Hot Toys Reveals Avengers: Doomsday Beast Figure With Deluxe Light-Up Sentinel Base

Hot Toys is adding another member of the X-Men to its growing Avengers: Doomsday collection, unveiling a new Beast 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure based on Kelsey Grammer’s return as Dr. Hank McCoy. The figure will be offered in both a standard version and a Deluxe Edition that adds a battle-damaged Sentinel head display with light-up eyes.

The newly developed Beast figure stands approximately 12.7 inches tall and uses a specialized body with 30 points of articulation. Hot Toys has covered the torso and limbs with soft fiber-material hair to recreate Beast’s distinctive mutant appearance, while the head features implanted blue wool hair styled in a swept-back look. A newly developed headsculpt is based on Grammer’s likeness and includes detailed skin textures, facial hair and Hot Toys’ separate rolling-eyeball system, allowing collectors to adjust the direction of Beast’s gaze.

His costume is comparatively streamlined, consisting of dark blue pants with yellow details and a yellow belt featuring silver accents and an X-Men logo on the buckle. Six interchangeable hands are included, giving collectors a pair of fists, claw-gesture hands and grabbing hands. The standard edition also comes with an Avengers: Doomsday figure stand bearing Beast’s name.

The Deluxe Version keeps the same figure and accessories but adds a substantially larger display piece: a battle-damaged Sentinel head diorama. Hot Toys has detailed the fallen mutant-hunting robot with exposed mechanical cables, scorched armor and green flame effects, while the Sentinel’s eyes feature a USB-powered LED light-up function.

The Sentinel base also gives Beast a visual connection to several other figures in Hot Toys’ rapidly expanding Avengers: Doomsday collection. Thor’s Deluxe figure includes its own illuminated battle-damaged Sentinel head, while the Ultimate Edition of the Doctor Doom figure previously covered by CollectiblesNews.com includes an LED-illuminated Sentinel hand-themed diorama base.

Beast also joins a growing lineup of returning X-Men characters. Hot Toys has already released a Professor X figure based on Patrick Stewart’s likeness, complete with his wheelchair, as well as a Gambit figure featuring UV luminous reflective eyes and purple kinetic-energy effects.

The X-Men assortment has continued with Cyclops and his assortment of optic-blast effects and Magneto based on Ian McKellen’s return as the Master of Magnetism. Beast now gives collectors another member of that group in sixth-scale form, with the Deluxe Sentinel display making him particularly suited to a larger X-Men-themed setup.

Hot Toys has been expanding the Avengers side of the movie as well. Steve Rogers recently joined the collection with a light-up cracked Mjolnir, while another newly spotlighted Victor von Doom figure takes a less-armored approach to the character with a dark green cloak and mystic power effects.

Both the standard Beast 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure and the Deluxe Version are available for pre-order through Sideshow.
