Avengers: Doomsday Magneto Figure Gets First Look From Hot Toys
Hot Toys is giving Marvel collectors a closer look at Ian McKellen’s return as Magneto in Avengers: Doomsday. Sideshow has released a new first-look video showing the prototype Magneto 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, which was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. The figure is based on McKellen’s appearance in the upcoming movie and is available for pre-order in several different editions.
Hot Toys created a new helmeted headsculpt with McKellen’s likeness, along with separate rolling eyeballs. One of the more noticeable details is the hair, which uses implanted wavy light-gray wool rather than a completely sculpted hairstyle.
Magneto is dressed in a long-sleeved tactical tunic with an X-logo belt buckle, matching pants and tall black boots. His gray cape has a burgundy-colored lining, while six interchangeable hands give collectors several options for posing him. The figure also comes with an Avengers: Doomsday display stand.
Collectors will have quite a few versions to choose from. Sideshow lists a Standard Edition, Special Edition, Deluxe Edition and Exclusive Deluxe Edition, all currently available for pre-order.
Magneto is the latest addition to a growing group of Hot Toys figures tied to Avengers: Doomsday.
Earlier this month, CollectiblesNews.com took a first look at the new Cyclops figure, which includes several attachable optic-blast effects. Sideshow is also currently taking pre-orders for that figure.
Hot Toys followed that with an elaborate Avengers: Doomsday Thor figure featuring light-up Mjolnir and Stormbreaker weapons. The Deluxe Version adds a large battle-damaged Sentinel head display base with additional lightning effects.
The lineup extends beyond those three. Sideshow is also offering a Gambit figure with UV luminous reflective eyes, two bō staffs and translucent purple kinetic-energy effects, along with a Doctor Doom figure and a separate Doom’s Throne accessory.
The Magneto 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure is available for pre-order now through Sideshow in Standard, Special, Deluxe and Exclusive Deluxe editions.
