Hot Toys Gives First Look at Avengers: Doomsday Gambit Figure
Sideshow has released a new first-look video for Hot Toys’ upcoming Gambit 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, giving Marvel fans a close-up look at the Avengers: Doomsday collectible following its recent reveal at San Diego Comic-Con.
Inspired by Gambit’s appearance in the upcoming film, the figure features a newly crafted headsculpt with separately rolling eyeballs for more control over his expression and gaze. His eyes also have a UV luminous reflective effect designed to recreate the character’s signature kinetic glow.
Hot Toys has given Gambit a layered costume built around his familiar purple-and-black color scheme. He wears a leather-like microfiber trench coat over weathered dark purple chest armor with silver line patterns, black pants with purple stripes and weathered silver knee-high armored boots made from soft vinyl material. The trench coat is designed to allow for more dramatic posing.
A large assortment of kinetic-energy accessories is one of the main attractions of the release. Gambit comes with two bō staffs, including a standard version and another depicting the weapon in a kinetic-energy release state. Collectors can also use translucent purple energy effects to recreate his card-throwing attacks. The selection includes attachable energy swipe effects, kinetically charged playing cards with trailing and curved effects, energy-charging playing card effects and interchangeable fingers with elevated cards for his open left hand.
Hot Toys has even included playing cards in two different sizes. The set comes with 1/6 scale black-and-gold plastic playing cards as well as life-size versions, along with a specially designed figure stand.
There will be several ways to buy the figure. Sideshow lists a Standard Edition, Special Edition, Deluxe Edition and Exclusive Deluxe Edition, all of which are now available for pre-order.
Gambit is one of a growing number of Avengers: Doomsday collectibles being developed by Hot Toys. Sideshow is also taking pre-orders for Professor X and Doctor Doom among others.
