Hot Toys Brings Steve Rogers Back for Avengers: Doomsday With Light-Up Cracked Mjolnir

Avengers: Doomsday Steve Rogers Figure

Steve Rogers is heading back into action in Avengers: Doomsday, and Hot Toys is marking his return with a new 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure based on Chris Evans’ appearance in the upcoming Marvel film. The figure stands approximately 12.2 inches tall and uses a newly developed Steve Rogers headsculpt with Hot Toys’ separate rolling eyeball system, detailed skin textures, a sculpted beard and brushed-back mid-length brown hair. Hot Toys has paired the headsculpt with a muscular body featuring 30 points of articulation and four interchangeable silicone arms. One pair is fully seamless and pre-posed for fist and Mjolnir-holding gestures, while the second pair works with the included interchangeable hands.

One of the smaller details ties directly into Steve’s life after Avengers: Endgame. Every left hand included with the figure wears his wedding ring, reflecting the life he built after returning the Infinity Stones and finally sharing his dance with Peggy Carter. Hot Toys includes eight interchangeable hands in total, giving collectors several options for recreating quieter character moments as well as combat poses.

Steve’s Avengers: Doomsday costume takes a much more understated approach than his familiar Captain America uniform. The figure wears a charcoal brown jacket over a black T-shirt, olive brown pants, a black belt with a silver-colored buckle and black shoes. The civilian-style clothing makes the included weapon stand out even more: Thor’s cracked Mjolnir. The hammer features a battery-powered LED light-up function that produces blue illumination, along with a translucent blue lightning effect that can be attached for more dramatic displays. Hot Toys is also including a specially designed Avengers: Doomsday figure stand with a character nameplate.

Collectors who choose the Special Edition will receive an additional life-size metal ring inspired by the wedding ring worn by Steve. Hot Toys is positioning the piece as a commemorative collector’s item separate from the miniature rings incorporated into the figure’s interchangeable left hands. Pre-orders have not opened yet, with Sideshow currently taking RSVPs for both the standard figure and Special Edition.

Steve Rogers joins a rapidly expanding Hot Toys lineup based on Avengers: Doomsday. CollectiblesNews.com previously covered the Thor 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, which also includes a cracked light-up Mjolnir along with Stormbreaker and, in the Deluxe Version, a battle-damaged Sentinel head diorama base. The two releases give collectors different interpretations of the same reconstructed hammer as Hot Toys continues building out the film’s cast.

The line also includes several of the movie’s major X-Men and villain characters. CollectiblesNews.com has previously taken a closer look at Doctor Doom and his multiple Hot Toys editions, the Gambit 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure with its purple kinetic-energy effects, and the Professor X figure based on Patrick Stewart’s return as Charles Xavier. Hot Toys is also offering figures for Magneto and Cyclops as the Avengers: Doomsday collection continues to grow.

Steve Rogers stands apart from those releases by leaning heavily into what happened to the character after his original Avengers story appeared to be finished. The wedding ring, civilian clothing and cracked Mjolnir all point to a different version of Steve than the uniformed Captain America figures collectors have seen before, while still giving the new release one of the most recognizable weapons in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
