Regal Reveals Exclusive Avengers: Doomsday Doom’s Throne Popcorn Container and Sentinel Drink Vessel
Regal is getting ready for Avengers: Doomsday with a new lineup of theater collectibles, including two items that will be exclusive to the chain: a Doom’s Throne Popcorn Container and a Sentinel Collectible Drink Vessel. The theater chain recently revealed the new merchandise, confirming that Avengers: Doomsday collectibles will begin arriving at select Regal locations on December 17, one day before the Marvel Studios movie opens in theaters.
Both of Regal’s exclusive pieces lean heavily into imagery that has become central to the movie’s growing collectibles campaign. The Doom’s Throne Popcorn Container turns Doctor Doom’s throne into a concession collectible, giving fans another display piece centered around the Marvel villain. The second exclusive is the Sentinel Collectible Drink Vessel, based on Marvel’s towering mutant-hunting robots.
The Sentinel theme has been appearing with increasing frequency across Avengers: Doomsday merchandise. CollectiblesNews.com recently covered Hot Toys’ massive 23.62-inch Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure, which features LED light-up eyes, interchangeable battle-damaged parts and a miniature Doctor Doom figure.
Hot Toys has also incorporated damaged Sentinels into several of its sixth-scale releases. The company’s Beast Deluxe figure includes a light-up battle-damaged Sentinel head, while its Thor Deluxe figure uses another illuminated Sentinel head as part of the display.
The new Regal drink vessel brings the Sentinel into a very different collecting category, joining the increasingly elaborate popcorn buckets, cups and other concession merchandise being produced around major movie releases. Regal has already been active with Marvel theater collectibles this year. CollectiblesNews.com previously covered the Avengers: Endgame Encore concession lineup, which included a Nano Gauntlet popcorn container and an Iron Man Mark 85 helmet popcorn container at Regal locations.
Regal is also planning additional Avengers: Doomsday promotions. Its official Avengers promotions page says Regal Rewards members attending qualifying Infinity Vision screenings during opening weekend can receive an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card while supplies last. A December 20 RealD 3D fan event will also include collectible 3D glasses featuring one of five mystery logos.
The Doom’s Throne Popcorn Container and Sentinel Collectible Drink Vessel will be available beginning December 17 at select Regal locations while supplies last. Regal has not announced pricing for the two exclusives in its initial social media reveal.
