Regal Giving Away Exclusive Magic: The Gathering Card at Avengers: Doomsday Opening Weekend

Regal is adding a trading card giveaway to the growing list of collectibles surrounding Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, with an exclusive Magic: The Gathering card available to moviegoers during opening weekend. The promotion was revealed at New York Comic Con and will be available to Regal Rewards members who see Avengers: Doomsday in an Infinity Vision showing from December 17 through December 20. The exclusive Magic: The Gathering card will be handed out while supplies last.

That makes the card another format-specific theatrical collectible for Marvel fans to track down. Regal describes Infinity Vision as offering bigger, brighter and more immersive screens, and the chain is already selling tickets for Avengers: Doomsday ahead of its December 18 release.

The Magic: The Gathering connection also gives the promotion a different angle from the concession collectibles and promotional merchandise that have dominated the lead-up to the film. Instead of a popcorn container, cup or poster, fans attending qualifying screenings will be getting a collectible trading card tied to one of the largest tabletop card games in the hobby.

It is also the latest in a series of Regal promotions surrounding Marvel’s return to theaters this year. In September, CollectiblesNews.com reported that Regal was giving away limited-edition foil-embossed Avengers: Endgame Encore mini posters to fans attending qualifying opening-night RealD 3D screenings in 4DX auditoriums.

Regal also participated in the larger wave of Avengers: Endgame Encore concession collectibles, including a light-up Nano Gauntlet popcorn container and an Iron Man Mark 85 helmet popcorn container.

Collectors interested in the card will need to be Regal Rewards members and attend an eligible Infinity Vision showing of “Avengers: Doomsday” between December 17 and December 20. The cards will be available only while supplies last.
