Massive Avengers: Doomsday Sentinel Figure With Doctor Doom Miniature Revealed by Hot Toys
Hot Toys is going big with its latest Avengers: Doomsday collectible, unveiling a towering Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure that stands nearly two feet tall and includes a miniature Doctor Doom figure tied to a scene from the upcoming Marvel movie. The new Sentinel measures approximately 23.62 inches, or 60 centimeters, tall and is constructed from vinyl. Hot Toys has finished the mutant-hunting robot in a metallic purple and gray color scheme, with a newly developed headsculpt and LED light-up eyes that can switch between green and orange.
Collectors will also be able to change the Sentinel’s appearance. The figure includes interchangeable regular and battle-damaged face plates as well as regular and battle-damaged chest plates. The face plate can also be removed completely to expose mechanical detailing underneath.
Despite its size, the Sentinel is articulated rather than being a static display piece. Hot Toys says it has 18 points of articulation across the head, upper arms, elbows, wrists, chest, thighs and knees. Six interchangeable hands are included, with clenched fists, open hands and energy-blast-firing hands providing additional display options.
The massive figure also continues a theme that Hot Toys has been building across several of its Avengers: Doomsday releases. CollectiblesNews.com recently covered the company’s Beast 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, whose Deluxe Edition includes a battle-damaged Sentinel head with light-up eyes.
Before that, Hot Toys revealed an Avengers: Doomsday Thor figure with a Deluxe Version built around another illuminated battle-damaged Sentinel head. The arrival of a full 23.62-inch Sentinel gives collectors a much larger centerpiece to connect with those earlier displays.
Potential Avengers: Doomsday spoilers follow. Hot Toys is also including a Doctor Doom miniature figure with the Sentinel. Doom is posed with his arms open and comes with a rocky terrain-themed miniature base. According to the release, the display is designed to recreate a scene in which Doctor Doom raises the Sentinels from the ground.
The Doctor Doom miniature measures approximately 4.33 inches tall with its base. That accessory makes the Sentinel more than simply another oversized Marvel figure. Hot Toys has now connected the mutant-hunting machines to multiple Avengers: Doomsday collectibles, while the new full-size Sentinel and Doom miniature offer collectors a more complete display built around the movie’s confrontation with the X-Men.
The Avengers: Doomsday Sentinel Jumbo Sofvi Figure is available to pre-order now through Sideshow.
