The Mandalorian and Grogu Set First Look Revealed by Hot Toys
Sideshow has given Star Wars collectors a first look at Hot Toys’ upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu 1/6 Scale Collectible Set, releasing a new unboxing video ahead of the set’s worldwide launch. The centerpiece of the release is a newly developed Din Djarin figure featuring a headsculpt with the likeness of Pedro Pascal and Hot Toys’ rolling eyeball design, allowing collectors to adjust the direction of the character’s gaze.
The figure also includes Din Djarin’s helmet and silver-chrome beskar armor with an electroplated finish. The armor is layered over a tailored undersuit, flak vest, pants and boots, with additional costume pieces including a cape, bandolier and utility belt equipped with ammo cylinders, a pouch, grav charge holster and pistol holster.
Hot Toys has also packed the figure with an extensive weapons loadout. Accessories include a newly crafted Amban phase-pulse sniper rifle, a new scoped sniper rifle, a new gladius sword, the IB-94 blaster pistol, a vibroblade, bendable fiber-cord whip and grav charge. Collectors can also attach a magnetic jetpack to the figure and add a flamethrower effect for action poses. A snow-themed figure stand is included for display.
Grogu is also part of the standard set. The newly developed figure stands approximately 2.36 inches, or 6 centimeters, tall and features a rotatable head with detailed skin textures. A magnetic feature allows Grogu to attach to the back of The Mandalorian’s shoulder.
The Deluxe Version expands the set with two additional Grogu figures. One wears a bandolier with a pouch and rondel, while another is sculpted in a seated position. The Deluxe set also includes a newly developed hover pram with an articulated handle. Both versions are currently available to preorder through Sideshow.
The Mandalorian and Grogu set joins a growing lineup of recent Hot Toys Star Wars releases and first-look reveals covered by CollectiblesNews.com.
In September, Sideshow revealed a first-look unboxing of Hot Toys’ Poe Dameron figure from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, showing off the pilot’s detailed costume and accessories. Just a few days earlier, Hot Toys’ Han Solo figure also received a first-look unboxing from Sideshow, continuing the company’s run of sixth-scale releases based on major Star Wars characters.
Collectors have also seen Hot Toys move deeper into the video game side of the franchise. In August, the company expanded its Star Wars Jedi: Survivor lineup with a limited Jetpack Trooper figure. And earlier in September, Hot Toys revealed a new Obi-Wan Kenobi figure.
