Kura Sushi and Nintendo Launch Yoshi Collectibles With Acrylic Carabiners, Plate Set and Blanket
Nintendo’s Yoshi is heading to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar with a new promotion built around Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, bringing a fresh lineup of capsule prizes and limited giveaways to the restaurant chain beginning November 1. The collaboration between Kura Sushi USA and Nintendo of America will feature characters and elements from the Yoshi and the Mysterious Book game for Nintendo Switch 2. Along with themed menu items, collectors will have several pieces of exclusive merchandise to track down during the promotion.
The main collectibles will be distributed through Kura Sushi’s Bikkura Pon prize system. The lineup includes eight collectible acrylic carabiners, magnet bookmark two-piece sets and a microfiber cloth inspired by Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Guests will receive one randomized Bikkura Pon capsule prize after reaching certain sushi plate totals. The first prize comes after 15 plates, another follows at 25 plates, and diners can earn another randomized prize for every additional 15 plates consumed.
That gives the promotion the same randomized collecting element that has become a familiar part of Kura Sushi collaborations. The Yoshi collaboration adds two larger collectibles for Kura Sushi Rewards members. On November 4, Rewards members who spend at least $85 on an in-restaurant order can receive a two-piece Yoshi and the Mysterious Book plate set. A second giveaway follows November 18, when qualifying members spending at least $85 can receive a themed blanket. Both offers are limited to one item per member and will be available while supplies last, with availability varying by location.
Kura Sushi is also planning two additional social media giveaways on November 19 and November 30 through its Instagram account.
The promotion includes three themed menu items as well. The “Ground Pound” Crunch Roll features shrimp tempura, shrimp mayo and avocado with red crunchy and matcha cream sauce, while the Shrimp Avocado “Tail Flick” Nigiri combines shrimp and avocado with yuzu cream sauce and red onion. A “Gobble” Up Matcha Parfait rounds out the menu with cheesecake, crunchy and matcha ice cream, strawberry and matcha sauce.
The collaboration arrives as Nintendo continues to expand the physical merchandise available around its characters.
