Pokémon 30th Celebration Items Reportedly Arriving at Hobby Lobby With ETBs Priced at $79.99

Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration products are reportedly beginning to arrive at Hobby Lobby stores across the United States, giving collectors another retail option for one of the year’s most heavily chased Pokémon releases.

Pokémon product tracker TCGTracker reported that most Hobby Lobby locations are expected to begin stocking 30th Celebration products this week. The reported lineup includes Elite Trainer Boxes priced at $79.99, Tech Sticker Collections at $19.99 and Knock Out Collections at $13.99. Availability is expected to vary by location as shipments arrive, so individual stores may put products on shelves at different times.

PokeTCGAlerts separately reported that some Hobby Lobby stores are receiving multiple 30th Celebration products and may be selling them without purchase limits. According to the account, that could include the ability to purchase sealed cases at certain locations. That information is based on store reports rather than a publicly announced Hobby Lobby policy, however, so limits and procedures could differ from one location to another. PokeTCGAlerts also said there was no evidence at the time of its report that Hobby Lobby planned to sell the products online.

The $79.99 reported price for the Elite Trainer Box is likely to draw particular attention. When CollectiblesNews.com covered the chaotic Best Buy launch of Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration, Best Buy listed the same Elite Trainer Box for $49.99. That release drew customers to stores well before launch day, including reports of unattended “ghost chairs” being placed outside locations despite Best Buy rules prohibiting them.

Retail activity around the anniversary set has continued since its September 16 debut. Pokémon later announced a special 30th Celebration Mewtwo promotional card available through participating retailers with qualifying Pokémon TCG purchases. Target also held a Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration event featuring merchandise, activities and giveaways, with reports of limited Mewtwo promo distribution helping drive heavy collector interest.

The new Hobby Lobby reports add another retailer to the hunt, but collectors should treat the details as store-dependent for now. TCGTracker says stock is expected to begin appearing at most locations this week, while PokeTCGAlerts says drop dates will vary and recommends checking locally. The reports agree on the same three prices: $79.99 for the Elite Trainer Box, $19.99 for the Tech Sticker Collection and $13.99 for the Knock Out Collection.

With 30th Celebration products continuing to surface through different retailers weeks after launch, Hobby Lobby could offer another opportunity for collectors who missed earlier drops. The biggest question may be how widely the reported no-limit approach is actually used, particularly if some locations allow buyers to purchase entire sealed cases.
