Logan Paul Buys Original MrBeast Logo Sketch for $7,320 at Heritage Auctions

MrBeast Logo Sketch

Logan Paul has added an unusual piece of internet history to his collection, purchasing the original pencil concept sketch for MrBeast’s recognizable beast-head logo for $7,320. The circa-2018 drawing was offered as Lot 81966 in Heritage Auctions’ October 23-25 Fall Sports Catalog Auction. Paul revealed the acquisition after the sale, calling the $7,320 purchase something that “could potentially be one of my greatest acquisitions.”

According to the Heritage Auctions listing, the sketch represents an early concept for the visual identity that would eventually become closely associated with Jimmy Donaldson’s MrBeast brand. Heritage says MrBeast had initially been using a generic image found online before being advised to develop a logo that would be uniquely his own. During a brainstorming session with a design team, Donaldson said he wanted the logo to have a “big cat vibe.”

The artist’s first attempt was produced during an approximately 10-minute session, according to Heritage, and MrBeast approved the design. The pencil drawing appears on an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of paper, with the actual artwork occupying an area measuring approximately 4 by 4 inches. Heritage notes that the sheet has stains, wrinkles and small tears. The auction house had placed a guide value of $20,000 and up on the sketch before the sale.

Paul, however, appears to be looking at the piece less as a traditional artwork and more as an artifact from an early stage of one of the internet’s largest creator brands. “This piece represents an early chapter of MrBeast’s brand & I genuinely think he’s just getting started,” Paul wrote in announcing the purchase.

Paul also pointed to the scale of MrBeast’s audience and philanthropic projects as part of his reasoning. He noted that Donaldson’s main YouTube channel has 523 million subscribers and highlighted initiatives including TeamWater, TeamTrees and TeamSeas, along with other projects involving wells, meals, schools and medical procedures. Paul described Donaldson as both a friend and a creator whose work ethic and focus on content helped build what he considers the world’s largest creator brand.

That history gives the pencil sketch a very different collecting angle from the sports cards and memorabilia that made up much of Heritage’s Fall Sports Catalog Auction. It is an original design artifact tied to the development of a digital-era brand rather than a traditional sports card, autograph or game-used item. Heritage itself described the sketch as an artifact connected to the rise of creator-driven digital culture.

There is one important limitation attached to the sale. Heritage specifically states that the lot consists only of the physical artwork and does not transfer any intellectual property rights associated with the MrBeast logo. For Paul, that does not appear to diminish its significance. His purchase is based on the sketch’s connection to an early stage of MrBeast’s growth.

The $7,320 acquisition adds another type of collectible to a market increasingly willing to treat objects connected to internet creators, digital culture and online brands as historical memorabilia. Other items sold during the same auction include a restored T-206 Honus Wagner card, a Batman rookie card, and a WrestleMania III Intercontinental Championship Belt.
