Hallmark Turns the Griswold House Into an Interactive National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Collectible

Hallmark is giving National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation fans a much bigger display piece this holiday season with a new interactive Griswold Family Christmas tabletop decoration featuring lights, dialogue and music from the 1989 movie. The $149.99 Keepsake collectible recreates the Griswold family house covered in exterior Christmas lights and adds several interactive character pieces that trigger different performances depending on how they are placed. Hallmark says the decoration produces a continuous light effect when connected to its included power adapter, turning the familiar movie house into a display piece even when the sound features are not being used.
The most unusual part of the design is the way the characters interact with the house. Placing one character in the center snowbank activates movie dialogue along with a synchronized light show, while putting two characters together unlocks additional dialogue or music. A separate button plays a version of the “Hallelujah” chorus. That gives the piece considerably more functionality than a standard ornament or static holiday village decoration. Hallmark designed it as a tabletop display rather than a tree ornament, with the house measuring approximately 9 inches by 6.5 inches by 5.25 inches.
The collectible was created by Hallmark artists Rob Stanphill and Jake Angell and comes packaged in a gift box. It does not require batteries, instead using an included DC power adapter that plugs into a standard wall outlet.
The Griswold house is part of Hallmark’s broader 2026 Keepsake Ornament Debut. As CollectiblesNews.com reported earlier this week, more than 150 new Keepsake ornaments and decorations are arriving as part of the October 10 through October 18 event, including releases tied to major movie, television and pop-culture properties.
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has an especially strong presence in this year’s assortment. Hallmark is also releasing a “Nine Lives Spent” ornament with light and sound, while a separate Clark Griswold ornament with sound is already part of the 2026 Keepsake lineup.
Hallmark will release the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Griswold Family Christmas Tabletop Decoration on October 10 for $149.99.
