Stephen Curry Alter Egos SuperFractor Card Sells for Record $652,022 at Goldin
A one-of-one Stephen Curry card from 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update has sold for $652,022 at Goldin, setting a new record for the Alter Egos insert series. The 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Alter Egos SuperFractor #AE-3 features Curry and is the only SuperFractor version of the card produced. The card is graded PSA NM-MT 8 and was offered in Goldin’s Monthly Sports Elite Auction. Goldin announced the $652,022 final price Sunday and called it the all-time highest public sale for any Alter Egos card.
Alter Egos is one of the showcase inserts in Topps Chrome Update Basketball, with Curry appearing as card #AE-3. The insert checklist also includes players such as LeBron James, Cooper Flagg, Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but the SuperFractor parallel takes the rarity to its highest level with only one copy of each card.
Curry’s Alter Egos card plays on his familiar “Chef Curry” persona, giving the insert a design that stands apart from a traditional action-photo basketball card. That combination of a recognizable Curry theme and the one-of-one SuperFractor treatment turned the card into one of the biggest modern basketball lots in Goldin’s auction.
The $652,022 sale comes during an extraordinary period for high-end modern basketball cards. The same 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update release produced the NBA Debut Patch Autographs that generated several multimillion-dollar results at Fanatics Collect, including the $8.04 million Cooper Flagg card, the $2.88 million Dylan Harper card and the $2.34 million Kon Knueppel card. Curry’s card comes from the same product but represents a very different type of chase, built around a rare insert and its one-of-one SuperFractor rather than an autograph or game-used debut patch.
The Curry result was also part of a Goldin auction that produced another major modern-card sale. As CollectiblesNews.com reported, a redemption for Shohei Ohtani’s one-of-one 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Autograph Relics card sold for $2.8487 million in the same Monthly Sports Elite Auction. That lot drew 30 bids and gives the auction two very different examples of the premium modern-card market, with Ohtani’s game-worn Gold Logoman autograph redemption nearing $3 million and Curry’s one-of-one insert setting a record for the Alter Egos line.
Goldin’s result establishes a new benchmark for the entire Alter Egos series, not simply for Curry’s version. While the card carries a PSA 8 grade rather than a Gem Mint designation, its one-of-one status means another copy cannot surface in a higher grade. For collectors pursuing the top version of Curry’s Alter Egos card, this is the only SuperFractor available.
