Cooper Flagg Is Opening His Own Card Shop
Cooper Flagg has become one of the biggest names in the sports card hobby, and now the Dallas Mavericks star is getting into the business himself. Flagg Trading Co., a new trading card shop connected to Flagg and his family, is preparing to open in downtown Bangor, Maine, on September 12. The company teased the opening on Instagram with the message, “THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER,” along with “Fresh packs. Big pulls.” and the hashtag #flaggshipofthehobby.
The store will be located at 35 Main Street in Bangor and is owned by Flagg and his cousin, according to 92.9 The Ticket. Flagg, a Maine native, had previously discussed the business venture during an appearance on Kevin Hart’s Cold As Balls.
The shop appears set to offer more than just newly released packs and boxes. Flagg Trading Co. has already been using its Instagram account to show off individual cards available through the business, including a particularly appropriate selection of Cooper Flagg cards. “If you’re looking for Cooper Flagg cards we got you!” the company wrote in an earlier post, saying it had more than 200 Flagg cards available with prices starting at $10.
Other cards shown through the business include products and singles spanning several areas of the hobby, including Pokémon, One Piece, Star Wars, and other sports cards.
The timing could hardly be better for a card shop bearing the Flagg name. Interest in Flagg’s rookie cards has exploded throughout 2026, with collectors chasing everything from mainstream rookie releases to some of the rarest one-of-one cards produced for the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year.
Just this week, CollectiblesNews.com reported that Flagg’s one-of-one Garbage Pail Kids rookie Superfractor sold for a record $288,000. The 2025 Bowman Garbage Pail Kids NBA card established a new all-time record for any Garbage Pail Kids card, selling for 3.6 times the previous record.
An even bigger Flagg card is about to hit the auction block. As CollectibleNews.com previously reported, his one-of-one Rookie Debut Patch Autograph is headed to Fanatics Collect’s September Premier Auction, scheduled to run from September 10 through September 24. That card combines Flagg’s autograph with the actual debut patch worn on his jersey during his first NBA game with the Mavericks. It will be offered alongside one-of-one Rookie Debut Patch Autographs for Dylan Harper and Kon Knueppel.
Flagg Trading Co.’s September 12 opening will therefore fall just two days after bidding begins on one of the most closely watched Cooper Flagg cards produced to date.
