Cooper Flagg Garbage Pail Kids Rookie Card Sells for Record $288,000
A one-of-one Cooper Flagg Garbage Pail Kids rookie card has sold for $288,000 at Fanatics Collect, setting a new all-time record for any Garbage Pail Kids card. The 2025 Bowman Garbage Pail Kids NBA Superfractor #BGP-1 sold August 28 in the Fanatics Collect August Premier Auction after receiving 34 bids. The $288,000 final price includes the buyer’s premium.
Fanatics Collect announced after the sale that the result was 3.6 times higher than the previous Garbage Pail Kids card record. Topps also highlighted the sale, calling attention to the one-of-one Flagg rookie card and its new place in Garbage Pail Kids history.
The card comes from 2025 Bowman Garbage Pail Kids NBA and depicts Flagg as a Garbage Pail Kids character in artwork paying tribute to “Old Gloria,” card #241a from the original Garbage Pail Kids Series 6 released in 1986. While other Flagg Garbage Pail Kids cards were produced, the Superfractor sold at Fanatics Collect is the only 1-of-1 version.
Unlike many six-figure modern sports cards, the Flagg Superfractor does not rely on an autograph or game-used memorabilia. Its appeal instead comes from the combination of Flagg’s rookie status, the one-of-one Superfractor treatment and a crossover with one of the most recognizable names in non-sports card collecting. The card was authenticated by CGC but did not receive a numerical grade.
The $288,000 price represents a dramatic new level for Garbage Pail Kids cards, and it also adds another major result to a rapidly developing market for Cooper Flagg collectibles. Flagg’s rookie cards have already produced a series of high-profile chases and sales, and another potentially much larger test is approaching.
As CollectiblesNews.com reported on August 28, Flagg’s one-of-one Rookie Debut Patch Autograph is headed to the Fanatics Collect September Premier Auction. That card features the actual patch worn during his NBA debut along with his autograph and will be offered alongside one-of-one Rookie Debut Patch Autographs for Dylan Harper and Kon Knueppel. The upcoming auction will provide another major benchmark for Flagg’s rapidly growing rookie-card market, but the Garbage Pail Kids Superfractor has already established a record that extends beyond basketball.
