Burger King Launches Dragon Ball Super Menu With Six Collectible Figures

Burger King is turning its upcoming Dragon Ball Super promotion into more than a kids meal giveaway. Beginning September 1, participating Burger King restaurants nationwide will launch the limited-time Dragon Ball Super Power Up Pack, combining a themed meal with one of six exclusive collectible character figures. The promotion was officially announced by Burger King and Toei Animation.

The six-figure collection includes Goku, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Goku, Vegeta, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegeta, Piccolo and Beerus.

CollectiblesNews.com first reported that the figures were headed to U.S. King Jr. Meals after Burger King teased the Dragon Ball Super collaboration. At the time, the company had not announced a nationwide launch date. The new press release now confirms that the promotion begins September 1.

The Dragon Ball Super Power Up Pack includes a 10-piece order of Burger King’s crispy chicken nuggets with a new Super Saiyan Sauce, described as a sweet, savory and tangy teriyaki-style sauce. It also comes with medium fries and a Dragon Ball Burst Lemonade made with mango-peach lemonade and mango-flavored popping boba. Most importantly for collectors, each Power Up Pack includes one of the six Dragon Ball Super figurines. The meal also comes in limited-time themed packaging and includes a Dragon Ball Super Crown.

The figures are not limited to the Power Up Pack. Burger King is also introducing a Dragon Ball Super-themed King Jr. Meal nationwide. Kids can choose a hamburger, cheeseburger or four- or six-piece Chicken Nuggets, along with a side and drink. Each meal includes a themed crown and one of the six collectible figures while supplies last. That gives collectors two ways to chase the full lineup.

The September launch also gives older Dragon Ball collectors a new Burger King promotion to chase more than two decades after the franchise’s earlier U.S. fast-food appearances. As CollectiblesNews.com noted in its previous coverage, Burger King offered Dragon Ball Z collectibles in 2000 and returned to the franchise again in 2003.

This time, Burger King is building the collaboration around the entire restaurant experience rather than simply placing a toy inside a kids meal.
