Burger King Bringing Dragon Ball Super Collectible Figures to U.S. King Jr. Meals

Dragon Ball Super Burger King Toys

Dragon Ball is returning to Burger King in the United States for the first time in more than two decades, with a new collection of six character figures coming to King Jr. Meals. Burger King teased the collaboration on Instagram on August 28, confirming that Dragon Ball Super toys are “coming soon.” The collection includes Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Beerus, Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta.

Each qualifying King Jr. Meal at participating U.S. Burger King restaurants will include one figure while supplies last. Character availability may vary by restaurant, and Burger King has not yet announced a nationwide start date, end date or pricing details for the promotion.

The six-character lineup gives Dragon Ball collectors several versions of two of the franchise’s biggest characters. Both Goku and Vegeta appear in their regular forms as well as their Super Saiyan Blue transformations, while Piccolo and Beerus round out the set.

The promotion also marks a return to a collaboration that older Dragon Ball collectors may remember. According to Attractions Magazine, Burger King previously offered Dragon Ball Z collectibles in the United States in 2000. That three-week promotion included seven metallic-finish character figures, with each figure accompanied by a base containing a collectible Dragon Ball Z trading card. The franchise returned to Burger King again in 2003 as part of a promotion that paired Dragon Ball Z with The Powerpuff Girls. The Dragon Ball portion of that release featured Super Saiyan Goku, Trunks, Vegeta and Super Android 13.

That makes the upcoming Dragon Ball Super collection Burger King’s first U.S. Dragon Ball toy promotion in more than 20 years. Fast-food toys have increasingly become their own collecting category, particularly when promotions involve major entertainment franchises. With six different figures and only one included with each qualifying meal, collectors looking for the entire Dragon Ball Super lineup will need to track down each character separately.
