Gold Jimothy Rookie Card Sells for $20,100 on eBay

Jimothy Gold Card

The Seattle Mariners’ one-of-one Gold Jimothy Rookie Card has sold for $20,100 on eBay, completing a remarkable run for a collectible that began as a free ballpark giveaway less than a month ago. The eBay auction for the unique Gold card closed at $20,100. The listing identified it as an ungraded 2026 Seattle Mariners Jimothy card in near mint or better condition, with a print run of exactly one.

The sale is the latest chapter in a story that started before the Mariners’ August 5 game at T-Mobile Park. As CollectiblesNews.com reported on August 4, the Mariners distributed Jimothy Rookie Cards to the first 20,000 fans attending the game, with several limited chase versions randomly mixed into the giveaway. At the top of the chase was the single Gold 1-of-1. The promotion also included a Silver version limited to 100 copies, a Shiny Blue version numbered to 500 and another parallel limited to 2,000.

The Gold card didn’t stay hidden for long. T-Mobile Park announced after the game that 13-year-old Abby had pulled the one-of-one card, instantly identifying the winner of what had become the biggest chase of the promotion.

Within weeks, the card was on eBay. CollectiblesNews.com reported on August 25th that bidding for the Gold Jimothy Rookie Card had already reached $8,300 after 76 bids, with more than five days still remaining in the auction. At that point, 436 people were watching the listing. The question was how much higher collectors would take it.

The answer was $20,100. That final result gives the Jimothy promotion an ending that would have been difficult to predict when the cards were handed out at T-Mobile Park. A free stadium giveaway built around Seattle’s viral raccoon turned into a five-figure collectible in a matter of weeks.

Jimothy became a Seattle phenomenon after photos and videos of the unusually shaped raccoon began circulating online. The Mariners embraced the local celebrity and eventually transformed him into a baseball-card-style promotion. From being randomly handed to one lucky fan at T-Mobile Park to generating more than $20,000 on eBay, the Gold Jimothy Rookie Card has become one of the more unlikely baseball collectibles stories of 2026.
