First Avengers: Doomsday Collectible May Reveal Mysterious New Doctor Doom Prop

One of the first Avengers: Doomsday collectibles to make its way into a collector’s hands may have revealed an intriguing new piece of Doctor Doom’s arsenal. Entertainment journalist Brandon Davis shared a look at the collectible on X on Monday, drawing attention to a mysterious accessory associated with Doom that has not yet been clearly identified.

“The first Avengers: Doomsday collectible is all mine and it has a… new Doom prop accessory?” Davis wrote, before asking fans what they thought the object might be. His post does not identify the accessory or explain its purpose, leaving collectors and Marvel fans to speculate about whether the piece represents an object Doctor Doom will actually use in the upcoming film.

The Avengers: Doomsday collectible that Davis unboxed is a statue of Doctor Doom on a throne from Iron Studios. In their description of the item, Iron Studios notes that Doctor Doom comes with 3 different arm options to swap out. From photos of the statue, one of the arms is an open hand, another of the arms holds a magical spell book, and the third arm features he mystery device that Davis highlighted.

In his unboxing video, Davis speculates if the device might be a universe hopper. Commenters on his X post suggest other theories such as an Ultimate Nullifier, the Wand of Watoomb, or a mini hologram projection device. Our guess is that maybe it is some type of control device for the Sentinels.

Hot Toys also recently unveiled its highly detailed 1/6 scale Doctor Doom figure, but it doesn’t show the mystery device. Previously announced collectibles have shown Doom’s green-and-silver costume, his throne and a selection of character-specific accessories, but Davis’ X post raises the possibility of another prop connected to the character.

Movie toys and figures can sometimes provide early looks at costumes, equipment and other details before audiences see them on screen, and this particular accessory has already given collectors something new to wonder about. Whether the object turns out to be an important piece of Doom’s equipment or simply an accessory created for the collectible remains unknown, but Davis’ first look has given Marvel collectors another detail to watch as the movie’s merchandise rollout continues.
