CardVault by Tom Brady Adds JAY-Z, Aaron Judge, Connor McDavid and More to Strategic Investor Group

CardVault by Tom Brady has announced its first strategic investor group, bringing together prominent names from sports, business, media, technology and entertainment as the collectibles retailer plans its next phase of growth.
The investor group includes RedBird Capital founder Gerry Cardinale, Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter, Silver Lake co-CEO Egon Durban, Entrata CEO Adam Edmunds, Addition founder Lee Fixel, Raising Cane’s founder and CEO Todd Graves, Boston Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck, Fenway Sports Group principal owner John Henry, Boston Globe Media CEO Linda Henry, New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge, The Kraft Group, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, Silver Lake co-CEO Greg Mondre, Tom Brady manager Ben Rawitz, creative studio Shadow Lion and UFC President and CEO Dana White.
According to CardVault, the investment will help fund new store openings, expansion into new distribution channels, hiring across the business, improvements to technology, supply chain and operational infrastructure, and enhancements to the customer experience. The new investors join CardVault’s existing ownership group of co-founders Ed Kane, Randy Greenstein, Chris Costa, Tim Bonito and Scott Heigelmann, along with Tom Brady.
Brady acquired a 50% ownership stake in CardVault in February 2025. Since then, the company says it has expanded from three stores to 17 locations nationwide in just over a year. CardVault by Tom Brady just recently opened a new location in Palo Alto, California.
CardVault said its long-term goal is to build a network of more than 100 stores in major sports and entertainment destinations while also growing through automated retail, digital commerce, strategic partnerships and other distribution channels.
“Collecting today is about much more than owning a card. It’s about the stories, the memories and the community that brings fans together,” Brady said. Brady added that CardVault is working to create a place where collectors ranging from people opening their first pack to longtime hobbyists can share that interest.
CardVault currently sells products from Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, Pokémon and Fanatics Authentic. The company also allows customers to buy, sell, trade and submit collectibles for grading through authorized partnerships with PSA, Beckett, SGC and CGC. The company also operates CardVault Breaks, its live-streaming business where customers can take part in real-time product openings.
CardVault said the new investment will help it reach more collectors, enter additional markets and continue expanding its retail and live collecting businesses.
