Naruto Yankees Card Presales Reach Nearly $1,000 Ahead of September Giveaway

The New York Yankees will team up with Naruto for a special theme night at Yankee Stadium this fall, and collectors are already asking nearly $1,000 for the event’s exclusive trading card.

Naruto Night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, when the Yankees host the Colorado Rockies. The first 18,000 guests entering Yankee Stadium are scheduled to receive a Naruto Yankee Stadium Exclusive Card while supplies last.

The Yankees state that purchasing a ticket does not guarantee a promotional item. Guests must enter the stadium early enough to receive the giveaway, and each person is limited to one item per valid same-day ticket.

Despite the game being more than a month away, a growing number of presale listings have already appeared on eBay. Individual card presales reach as high as $999.99.

Multi-card listings are priced even higher. One seller is asking $6,000 for eight cards, while a five-card lot is listed for $4,400. A three-card package carries a $2,700 price, and another seller is asking $2,000 for two game tickets, a card and a headband.

Those amounts are active asking prices rather than completed sales. They do not necessarily show what collectors are currently willing to pay for the card.

The listings are also presales, meaning the sellers do not yet possess the promotional items. They must attend the September 8 game, enter early enough to receive the giveaway and successfully deliver the promised cards afterward.

The promotion brings together one of baseball’s most recognizable teams and one of the world’s most popular manga and anime franchises. It also arrives as Bandai prepares to introduce a new Naruto trading card game, adding to collector interest around the franchise.

The card’s long-term secondary-market value will likely become clearer after the game, when thousands of copies begin reaching collectors and online marketplaces.
