Tom Brady Reveals He Bought Fernando Mendoza’s First NFL Autograph Card

Tom Brady, who slapped Logan Paul to create one of the biggest headlines of Fanatics Fest so far, has added yet another headline moment to Fanatics Fest by revealing that he purchased Fernando Mendoza’s first-ever NFL autograph trading card.

Topps shared the moment from Fanatics Fest, where Brady revealed that he bought the card. While the final sale price was not disclosed, Topps said the sale surpassed Mendoza’s previous public record of $78,000.

After revealed he had purchased the Mendoza card, Brady said, “I know how hard he works. He has a great family, and he’s coming to a great environment for success, so I figured, I’ve got to invest in it.”

Brady also added, “The card was not easy to find. I know there were a lot of negotiations that went back and forth for quite a bit. I ended up paying a very hefty price. It’s a true win-win. So I get the card that I want. It’s going to bring our team a lot of luck. And it’s going to hopefully launch Fernando into a great young career.”

The reveal comes as Mendoza’s cards have been getting more attention from collectors. He was also featured on early packaging for 2026 Topps Flagship Football, giving him a prominent place in one of Topps’ upcoming football releases.

Tom Brady has become increasingly visible around the collectibles space through Fanatics events, card appearances and hobby-related moments. His purchase of Mendoza’s first NFL autograph card turns the sale into more than a rookie-card milestone. It also ties the card to one of the most famous players in football history.
