Fernando Mendoza Featured on First Look at 2026 Topps Flagship Football Box

Topps has given collectors a first look at 2026 Topps Flagship Football, and Las Vegas Raiders rookie Fernando Mendoza is part of the early packaging reveal.

The company previewed the upcoming release across its social channels, showing Mendoza on the box for 2026 Topps Flagship Football and confirming several of the product’s main chase elements. Topps said collectors can look for Rookie Cards from the entire 2026 NFL Draft class, on-card autographs, relics, Golden Mirror image variations and more.

The early box reveal matters because packaging is often the first signal of how a major release is being positioned. For collectors, the player shown on the front of the box becomes part of the product’s identity, especially for a flagship football set built around rookies, autographs and a new NFL card season.

Mendoza’s appearance on the box gives the preview a clear rookie-focused angle. Topps is also putting the full 2026 NFL Draft class at the center of the product, which should make Flagship Football a watched release for collectors following this year’s rookies. In a first look at some of the cards in the release, Topps revealed cards not only for Fernando Mendoza but also for Cam Ward, Drew Brees, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jeremyah Love, Ty Simpson, Drake Maye and Eli Stowers.

The on-card autograph detail is another major part of the announcement. Collectors often separate on-card signatures from sticker autographs, and Topps specifically listed on-card autographs as part of the release. Relics are also included, giving the product another chase category beyond base cards and parallels.

Golden Mirror image variations are also part of 2026 Topps Flagship Football. The variation format has become familiar to collectors through Topps flagship products in other sports, where alternate photos create another short-print chase alongside the regular base checklist.

Topps’ release calendar lists 2026 Topps Flagship Football for preorder on Friday, July 24, with dates subject to change. The actual release date is currently scheduled for August 21, 2026.
