Miller Lite Creates 4,400 Limited-Edition ‘Clinch Cans’ Celebrating Milwaukee Brewers Championship

Miller Lite is turning a moment from the Milwaukee Brewers’ championship into a limited-edition collectible, and there will only be 4,400 of them. The company has introduced Miller Lite Clinch Cans filled with beer that Miller says was being brewed in Milwaukee at the exact moment the Brewers “won it all.”
“Here’s to the Brewers from our brewers,” Miller Lite said in announcing the release. Rather than simply putting the championship on a commemorative package, Miller Lite is tying the contents of each can directly to the moment itself. According to the company, the beer inside was being made at its Milwaukee brewery when the Brewers clinched the championship.
That gives the Clinch Cans an unusual connection to the event they commemorate. The limited production of 4,400 cans also puts them firmly in the territory of sports and beer memorabilia, particularly for Brewers fans looking for something connected directly to the championship celebration. Fans will not be able to simply walk into a store and find one on the shelf. Beginning November 2, fans age 21 and older can make a reservation to pick up one Clinch Can from the Miller Brewery Tour Center in Milwaukee.
Reservations will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while the supply lasts, with a limit of one can per person.
The release continues a familiar crossover between sports celebrations and limited-edition packaging, but the story behind the Clinch Cans gives this particular release a little more than a commemorative design. With distribution limited to reserved pickups in Milwaukee, the cans will have a relatively small population compared with traditional mass-market commemorative packaging.
Reservations for the Miller Lite Clinch Cans begin November 2. Fans must be 21 or older, and the cans will be available while supplies last through the Miller Brewery Tour Center in Milwaukee.
