eBay Revenue Reaches $3.2 Billion as TCGplayer Tops $1 Billion and Goldin Posts Record Quarter

eBay

eBay’s collectibles businesses continued to grow during the third quarter of 2026, with TCGplayer surpassing $1 billion in gross merchandise volume over the trailing 12 months, Goldin posting another record quarter and eBay expanding authentication services for both trading cards and collectible coins.

The collectibles milestones were included in eBay’s third-quarter earnings report released October 28. Overall, the company generated $3.2 billion in revenue during the quarter, up 14% from a year earlier, while gross merchandise volume across its marketplaces reached $23.2 billion, an increase of 15%. CEO Jamie Iannone pointed to eBay’s focus categories, consumer-to-consumer marketplace and recommerce strategy as important contributors to the company’s growth.

For trading card collectors, the biggest number may be TCGplayer’s $1 billion in trailing 12-month GMV. eBay also said TCGplayer has begun onboarding international sellers in the United Kingdom and Canada, expanding a marketplace that has become one of the company’s most important platforms for Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and other trading card games.

Goldin also reached another milestone during the quarter. eBay said the auction house achieved record GMV for the period, continuing the growth of the high-end collectibles business it acquired in 2024. Among the sales highlighted by eBay was a rare 1776 Exeter Broadside copy of the Declaration of Independence that brought $3.65 million in an auction commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Authentication remains another major part of eBay’s collectibles strategy. During the quarter, the company expanded its Authenticity Guarantee program to eligible collectible coins in the United States through a partnership with Professional Coin Grading Service. eBay also lowered the mandatory price thresholds for trading card authentication in both the United States and United Kingdom, allowing a wider range of cards to go through the service.

The company’s live-shopping business is growing quickly as well. eBay Live generated GMV at what eBay described as a multibillion-dollar annualized run rate during the quarter, with year-over-year GMV growth remaining well into the triple digits. Sellers, buyers, hours of live content and overall viewership all continued to increase across the seven markets where the service operates. eBay also introduced multistreaming, allowing sellers to broadcast simultaneously on eBay Live and social platforms, while adding AI-powered moderation and additional content screening.

Those developments put several pieces of eBay’s collectibles business under the same umbrella: traditional fixed-price and auction listings, TCGplayer’s trading card marketplace, Goldin’s high-end auctions and eBay Live’s livestream selling format. The company’s third-quarter report does not disclose exactly how much collectibles contributed to the overall $23.2 billion in GMV, but the category received several of the most prominent mentions in eBay’s business highlights.

The broader company finished the quarter with $501 million in GAAP net income from continuing operations and $685 million on a non-GAAP basis. For the full year, eBay now expects revenue between $12.62 billion and $12.67 billion and GMV between $91.5 billion and $91.9 billion.
