HTC Launches VIVEE Collectible AI Companion With Interchangeable Suits and Animated Personalities

Vivee

HTC is entering the collectible tech space with VIVEE, a small AI-powered digital companion designed to combine personality, customization and everyday functionality in a device roughly the size of an egg. The company recently introduced VIVEE, describing it as a collectible AI-powered lifestyle accessory rather than a conventional digital assistant. The device can sit on a desk or attach to a bag, giving owners several ways to carry or display it throughout the day.

Each VIVEE has its own personality and animated reactions, while interchangeable “Suits” allow owners to change its appearance and unlock additional interactions and features. That customization is a major part of the concept. Rather than building VIVEE solely around productivity tools, HTC says it wanted the device to have character and give users a way to personalize their digital experience.

VIVEE’s animated display shows expressive reactions, while touch and motion sensors allow the device to respond to physical interaction. HTC says the companion can also handle reminders, interactive activities, guided meditation and music playback through its built-in speaker. AI-powered conversations are another part of the experience, giving users the ability to casually interact with VIVEE in addition to using its more practical features.

HTC has even created a fictional origin story for the new device. “VIVEE’s origin story brings together imagination, technology, and a touch of science fiction,” said Cher Wang, Chairwoman and CEO at HTC. “The story begins with beings made of pure energy who traveled to Earth to discover what it means to be human. That sense of curiosity and discovery inspired VIVEE’s design, creating an interactive experience that brings personality and a fresh perspective to everyday technology.”

“We’re seeing growing interest in technology that reflects individual style and personality. With VIVEE, we wanted to create something that goes beyond traditional functionality — an expressive, customizable experience that fits naturally into people’s daily lives,” she said.

That story helped shape the device’s personality-driven approach, with HTC positioning VIVEE somewhere between a digital companion, interactive character and customizable lifestyle accessory. Privacy is another area HTC highlighted in announcing VIVEE. The company says the device’s core features do not require users to connect email, social media, banking or other personal accounts.

A physical microphone on/off switch gives users direct control over microphone activation. HTC also says information shared with third-party AI providers is subject to measures designed to de-identify it, and that VIVEE interactions are not used to train general-purpose large language models.

VIVEE is available for preorder for a promotional price of $99. That introductory offer runs through November 30, after which the regular retail price will be $119. HTC expects the first orders to begin shipping in early December.
