One Piece x NBA S.H.Figuarts Luffy Figures Launch in Lakers and Knicks Uniforms

NBA X One Piece Figures

One Piece and the NBA are coming together in a new S.H.Figuarts collection, with Monkey D. Luffy suiting up for two of basketball’s most recognizable teams. Tamashii Nations is releasing S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Monkey D. Luffy figures wearing Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks uniforms, along with a separate basketball goal set designed to turn the figures into a miniature NBA display.

The three products went on sale in Japan through toy stores, hobby shops, electronics retailers and sporting goods stores. Both Luffy figures have been designed around the colors and details of their respective NBA teams. Tamashii Nations says particular attention was paid to reproducing the coloring of the Lakers and Knicks uniforms, while the player-name and number fonts also reflect differences between the two teams.

Luffy’s trademark straw hat is included in a wearable version, letting collectors display the character with one of his most familiar accessories even while he is dressed for the basketball court. The figures are also built specifically with basketball poses in mind. Each comes with a basketball and three pairs of interchangeable hands, including hands shaped to hold the ball. Tamashii Nations says the figures’ articulation was tested around basketball movements so collectors can recreate different playing positions.

Two additional facial-expression parts are included with each version, along with a dedicated display base carrying the corresponding team logo. The included parts allow poses inspired by dribbling, passing, jump shots and dunks. The facial expressions are different between the Lakers and Knicks versions, but Tamashii Nations says the parts can be swapped between the two figures, giving collectors additional display combinations if they own both.

A separate S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Basketball Goal Set launches at the same time. The approximately 285mm-tall hoop was scaled specifically to work with the Luffy figures. Tamashii Nations says the goal was sculpted and painted under NBA supervision using basketball goals from actual games as a reference. The backboard adds the One Piece logo, giving the display a visible crossover element rather than simply recreating a standard NBA basket.

The goal set also includes an A4-sized court-design sheet. Two sheets can be connected to form a half court, allowing collectors to stage scenes around free throws, three-point shots and other basketball poses. Together, the Lakers Luffy, Knicks Luffy and basketball goal set turn the One Piece x NBA collaboration into a display-focused S.H.Figuarts release rather than simply placing team branding on an existing figure.

The S.H.Figuarts ONE PIECE×NBA Monkey D. Luffy Los Angeles Lakers Version, New York Knicks Version and Basketball Goal Set have begun general retail sales in Japan. Tamashii Nations has not provided U.S. release details, and notes that release dates and availability outside Japan can differ by region.
