Pokémon Trading Cards Lead CVS Pharmacy’s Expanded Fall Collectibles Lineup

Pokemon Mega Evolution Pitch Black Cards

CVS Pharmacy is expanding its collectibles selection for fall, putting Pokémon trading cards alongside blind-box toys, character collectibles and a growing lineup of seasonal and nostalgic products. The pharmacy retailer announced October 23 that the expanded assortment is rolling out at CVS Pharmacy stores and CVS.com throughout the fall. The company says it is adding more products built around collectibles, nostalgia and the surprise of discovering something unexpected during a routine shopping trip.

Pokémon trading cards are one of the main collectibles specifically highlighted in the new assortment. CVS said trading cards will be joined by Nook Nook Series 1 blind boxes and other character-driven surprise-and-reveal products, with additional launches arriving throughout the season.

The expansion reflects growing interest in collectibles among adult shoppers as well as younger buyers. CVS cited Circana research showing that toy spending among consumers ages 18 and older increased 12% year over year during the first quarter of 2025, reaching $1.8 billion and becoming the largest spending segment among age groups.

Pokémon appears to be a significant part of that trend. According to the research cited by CVS, 19% of adults surveyed said they had recently purchased Pokémon trading cards for themselves.

“There’s something exciting about finding a product you weren’t expecting during an everyday shopping trip,” said Zach Dennett, Interim Chief Merchandising Officer, CVS Health. “By regularly introducing new and unexpected finds at their local CVS, we’re creating more moments of discovery and giving customers reasons to explore what’s new every time they shop with us.”

The collectibles rollout is part of a much broader fall merchandising push at CVS. Among the retailer’s other new toy and novelty products are Squishy Potato, Plush Sugar Ball, Fried Chicken Squish and Spinner Ball, along with seasonal releases including Holiday Butter, Holiday Dumplings and Snoopy Dumpling.

CVS is also adding products that lean heavily into nostalgia and licensed characters outside the traditional collectibles aisle. Its fall beauty assortment includes Beauty Creations x Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Lip Oils and Lip Serums, The Creme Shop x Peanuts Great Pumpkin Collection and limited-edition Halloween nail designs from Kiss.

The retailer is also carrying several CVS-exclusive seasonal products, including Joyward Halloween Squishes and limited-edition Well Market snacks such as Pumpkin Spice Mini Cookies and Waffle Cones with Milk Chocolate. Seasonal food releases include Wonka Oompa Loompa Gummies and Magic Garden Ropes, Dunkin’ Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee and K-Cups, Oreo Apple Pie a La Mode Limited Edition Flavor and Tate’s Pumpkin Spice Cookies. CVS says additional holiday treats will begin arriving in November.

CVS operates approximately 9,000 retail pharmacy locations, giving the expanded collectibles assortment the potential to put Pokémon cards and blind-box products in front of shoppers who may not regularly visit hobby shops or dedicated collectible retailers. Availability will not be identical everywhere. CVS says the expanded assortment is available at participating locations and CVS.com, with product selection, timing and inventory varying by store and remaining subject to availability while supplies last.
