Firehouse Subs Launches Limited-Edition K-9 Crew Plushies Based on Real First Responder Dogs

Firehouse Subs is turning three real-life working dogs into a limited-edition plush collection for National First Responders Day, with proceeds benefiting the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The new K-9 Crew collection launches October 28 at participating Firehouse Subs restaurants nationwide and includes plush versions of Stone, Ember and Echo, three dogs whose real-world work spans search and rescue, fire safety education and police service.
Each plush will cost $9.95 and will be available only in participating U.S. restaurants while supplies last. Firehouse Subs says the plushies will not be offered through Firehouse Rewards digital orders or third-party delivery apps. Of the purchase price, $6.16 per plush, excluding taxes, represents net profit that will benefit the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
The three-character lineup gives collectors a small complete set to chase, but each plush is tied to a specific real-life K-9.
Stone is a Golden Retriever trained for search and rescue who has responded to major disasters around the country, including the Surfside condominium collapse. Firehouse Subs says Stone has helped locate people in critical situations during those deployments.
Ember is a Dalmatian serving with the Sevierville Fire Department in Tennessee. Rather than search and rescue or police work, Ember’s role centers on community outreach and fire safety education, making the dog a four-legged ambassador for the department.
Echo is a German Shepherd serving with the Sartell Police Department in Minnesota. According to Firehouse Subs, Echo joined the department in 2023 through a grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and has since helped locate missing people and detect potential threats.
“Behind every K-9 Crew pup is a real hero making a difference in their community,” said Robin Peters, Executive Director of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. “Stone’s story is a powerful reminder of the critical role K-9s play in search-and-rescue efforts across the country. These K-9 heroes often put themselves in harm’s way to help save lives. Through this collection, guests can help us continue providing lifesaving resources to first responders and public safety organizations nationwide.”
The plush release is part of a larger National First Responders Day fundraiser taking place October 28. Firehouse Subs says 100% of the purchase price of every Hook & Ladder sub sold that day, excluding taxes and certain extras, will also benefit the foundation. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was established in 2005 and has awarded more than $112 million in equipment and resources to first responders and public safety organizations across the United States.
The limited-edition Stone, Ember and Echo plushies go on sale October 28 for $9.95 each at participating Firehouse Subs restaurants nationwide while supplies last.
