Magic: The Gathering Reveals Four Star Trek Commander Decks Led by Picard, Spock, Worf and the Borg Queen

Magic: The Gathering is bringing four major corners of the Star Trek universe to Commander with new decks led by Jean-Luc Picard, Spock, Worf and the Borg Queen. Wizards of the Coast revealed the four Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander decks on October 20, giving collectors their first look at the structure of Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg ahead of the crossover’s November 13 release. Each 100-card deck will contain 32 cards that are completely new to Magic.

Federation Fleet is a blue-red-white deck led by Jean-Luc Picard, Luminary. Landing Party uses green-white-blue and features Commander Spock as its face commander, while the red-white-black Klingon Fury deck is led by Worf, Defiant Commander. The fourth deck, We Are the Borg, uses white-blue-black and puts the Borg Queen in command.

Wizards says the decks span the broader Star Trek franchise, with cards built around characters, episodes and starships rather than limiting each release to a single television series or era. With 32 new-to-Magic cards in each deck, the four releases account for 128 new card slots across the Commander lineup.

Each standard Commander deck contains one ready-to-play 100-card deck, including a traditional foil face commander with borderless artwork and 99 non-foil cards. Buyers also receive 10 non-foil double-sided tokens, a reference card and a deck box.

Collectors will have a much shinier option through the four Collector’s Edition Commander decks. The Collector’s Editions contain the same ready-to-play decks, but every card receives the surge foil treatment. That includes a borderless surge foil version of the face commander and 99 additional surge foil cards, including the 32 new-to-Magic cards. The included double-sided tokens are also surge foil on one side and non-foil on the reverse.

Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander decks and Collector’s Edition Commander decks release November 13, 2026. Preorders are open now through local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon and other retailers that sell Magic products.
