Tom Brady Championship Ticket Rookie Autograph Card Sells for $854,000 at Goldin

One of Tom Brady’s most important rookie cards sold for $854,000 at Goldin, finishing as the second-highest-priced item in the auction behind the record-setting Kimi Antonelli SuperFractor. The card is a 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Autograph #144 Tom Brady rookie, serial-numbered 045/100 and graded PSA NM-MT 8. Brady signed the front of the card in black ink.
Goldin’s listing says only one higher-graded example has been confirmed in either PSA’s census reporting or the corresponding PSA/DNA population report, putting this copy near the top of the graded population. Only 100 Championship Ticket versions were produced. The Championship Ticket is the rarer parallel of Brady’s 2000 Playoff Contenders Rookie Ticket autograph and has become one of the key cards from his debut season. A statement on the card serves as the manufacturer’s guarantee of authenticity for the autograph.
Brady was still an unproven sixth-round draft pick when the card was issued. New England selected him 199th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft, and he attempted just three passes during his rookie season while backing up Drew Bledsoe. What followed turned the Championship Ticket into one of the defining football cards of the modern hobby. Brady went on to win seven Super Bowls during his 23-season NFL career and finished as the league’s career leader in several major passing categories.
The $854,000 result made the Brady card the second-highest sale in Goldin’s Monthly Elite Auction. The only item to finish higher was the one-of-one 2025 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Kimi Antonelli SuperFractor rookie autograph, which sold for $878,400. Goldin said that sale established the all-time highest public price for any Kimi Antonelli card. That left just $24,400 between the two top results in the auction.
