Stern Pinball Brings Back AC/DC With Remastered Machine, 500-Unit Limited Edition

Stern Pinball is bringing one of its most popular music-themed machines back for a new generation with AC/DC Remastered, a substantially updated version of the company’s 2012 pinball game featuring new songs, redesigned playfield elements and modern Stern technology. AC/DC Remastered is available in Premium and Limited Edition models, with the Limited Edition capped at just 500 machines worldwide. The new release moves the game onto Stern’s SPIKE 3 platform while retaining the AC/DC theme and core elements that made the original machine a favorite among pinball players.

Rather than simply reissuing the earlier game, Stern has redesigned and upgraded multiple parts of the machine. The lower playfield has been reworked, while three new timed wizard modes have been added: “Oi Mania,” “Thunder Ramps” and “High Voltage.”

Several updates have been made to the game. The pinball-firing cannon has been re-engineered and now features a custom-molded cannon sculpt, while the Rock N Roll Train ball diverter has been fitted with a custom AC/DC locomotive. The familiar Hells Bells swinging bash toy has been revised, and a new custom-molded TNT detonator box includes an animated plunger.

Stern has also updated the presentation throughout the playfield. An illuminated song titleboard has been added to the back panel, the ramp entrances now use stainless steel with laser-cut AC/DC logos, and a right-loop spinning target joins the layout. New RGB playfield lighting can synchronize with optional cabinet and speaker expression lighting.

Music remains at the center of the machine. Stern has added eight AC/DC songs to the track list from the original 2012 game, along with six new selectable song modes. Live concert footage and classic AC/DC music videos are displayed on an 18.5-inch high-resolution SPIKE 3 screen, expanding the video presentation considerably from the original machine. Stern’s Insider Connected platform is built in as well, allowing players to track progress, earn game-specific achievements and connect their play history across supported machines.

The biggest collector-focused version is the Limited Edition. Only 500 will be produced globally, and each machine receives a sequentially numbered plaque and signed Certificate of Authenticity. Owners who register the machine also receive a digital Insider Connected Limited Edition owner’s badge. The LE adds an updated Cabinet Expression Lighting System and Speaker Expression Lighting System with AC/DC-themed effects, along with a full-color mirrored backglass and high-definition reflective foil cabinet decals. It also includes exclusive AC/DC Remastered pinball armor, an upgraded audio system, anti-reflection playfield glass and a shaker motor.

“AC/DC is one of the most iconic and beloved music-themed pinball games of all time, with a legacy that has resonated with players for more than a decade” said Seth Davis, President & CEO of Stern Pinball. “With AC/DC Remastered, we’re proud to honor what made the original machine a classic while introducing refined updates and enhancements that bring this beloved game to a new generation of players.”

Pricing reflects the considerable difference between the two versions. The AC/DC Remastered Premium Edition carries a U.S. MSRP of $10,199, while the 500-unit Limited Edition is priced at $13,499. Those prices are before applicable taxes, tariffs and other charges.

AC/DC Remastered is available now through authorized Stern Pinball distributors and dealers worldwide.
