Logan Paul Plans $1.2 Million Pokémon Night With 72 Legendary Collection Packs and Another Rare CoroCoro Peel

Logan Paul is preparing another high-stakes Pokémon livestream, this time combining 72 packs of 2002 Legendary Collection with two unpeeled 1996 CoroCoro sheets and another attempt to uncover the elusive PSA 10 Pikachu that escaped him earlier this year. Paul announced the event for October 29 at 6 PM ET on his YouTube channel, describing the night as involving $400,000 in Pokémon boxes and another $800,000 in unpeeled CoroCoro sheets. Those values are Paul’s own figures, putting the collectibles involved in the event at roughly $1.2 million before anything is opened or peeled.
The sealed portion centers on 72 Legendary Collection booster packs being sold individually through Goldin’s October 7-18 TCG Weekly Auction. Goldin’s auction page lists a dedicated “Logan Paul’s Booster Pack Break” category containing all 72 packs, which will be opened during Paul’s October 29 livestream. Collectors can also view the individual Legendary Collection pack lots through Goldin’s auction marketplace.
Winning bidders are not simply buying a sealed pack. Goldin says Paul will open each winning pack live on his YouTube channel, and the buyer will receive a customized five-to-ten-second read from Paul during the broadcast, subject to content approval. Goldin’s listing describes Legendary Collection as one of the most significant post-Base Set releases and points to recent PSA 10 Reverse Foil sales including Gengar at $408,000 and Pikachu at $780,000.
Legendary Collection has become one of the hottest early Pokémon releases at the top end of the market. The 2002 set brought cards from Base Set, Fossil, Jungle and Team Rocket back with its distinctive reverse-holo treatment, and every pack includes a reverse holo. That creates a built-in chase across all 72 packs, with condition potentially making the difference between an interesting pull and a card worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The other half of Paul’s October 29 event reaches even further back into Pokémon history. He says he has two unpeeled 1996 CoroCoro sheets containing Pikachu and Jigglypuff cards from CoroCoro Comic No. 223, which Goldin has described as among the earliest official Pokémon trading cards. Paul values the two sheets at a combined $800,000 and says he intends to peel another Pikachu #1 in pursuit of the PSA 10 grade he failed to land earlier this summer.
As CollectiblesNews.com reported on July 31, Paul previously peeled a Pikachu from a CoroCoro sheet he said cost $400,000. The same livestream also featured the opening of a First Edition Pokémon Base Set box that produced a Charizard, but Paul immediately expressed concern about the freshly peeled Pikachu’s centering and said he felt the card was probably a PSA 9.
His prediction turned out to be exactly right. CollectiblesNews.com later reported that the Pikachu received a PSA 9, while the Jigglypuff peeled from the same sheet graded PSA 8. Paul said at the time that he had hoped to produce the first PSA 10 Pikachu from the issue, but the $400,000 gamble ultimately fell one grade short.
Paul is now setting up what amounts to a rematch with the card. In announcing the October event, he said that “this time” he plans to peel what he believes will become the one and only PSA 10 Pikachu #1. Whether that actually happens will not be known until the card is removed from the sheet and submitted for grading, but the failed July attempt gives the new peel an obvious storyline before the livestream even begins.
The event will also include a non-card Pokémon milestone. Paul says he plans to evolve a Shiny Onix that took him 63 hours to hunt into Shiny Steelix during the same broadcast.
Goldin’s auction for the 72 Legendary Collection packs runs as part of its October 7-18 TCG Weekly Auction, with the packs scheduled to be opened live by Paul on October 29 at 6 PM ET.
