Funko Introduces Mystery Exclusive Pop! Variants With Avengers: Doomsday Bundle

Funko is adding a new incentive for collectors who buy complete character bundles, with exclusive mystery deco variants that will not be available separately. The company announced the new bundle-exclusive program on October 13, explaining that collectors who purchase qualifying sets through Funko.com will receive all of the mainline figures from a release together with an additional bonus collectible featuring an exclusive deco.
That bonus figure is free with the bundle and, according to Funko, cannot be found anywhere else. There is also a mystery element built into the release. Funko says collectors will not know what the exclusive deco design looks like when they order the bundle. The variant remains hidden until the package arrives, adding a reveal component to what would otherwise be a straightforward way to purchase an entire lineup at once.
Funko used an Avengers: Doomsday bundle in its announcement to illustrate how the program works, showing the main group of Pop! figures surrounding a silhouetted mystery Pop! in the center.
The company is using “deco” as a broad term for special design treatments rather than a single visual style. Funko says deco variants can include added paint, weathering effects, printed patterns, comic-inspired outlines or even sculpted treatments designed to make a figure resemble another material. Examples shown in the announcement include a Winnie the Pooh Pop! with a whittled treatment that makes the figure appear carved from wood and a Sylvester & Tweety Pop! & Buddy set finished in a sketched style that resembles a drawing on paper.
For collectors who normally try to complete every figure in a particular release, the new system creates an additional piece that can only be obtained by buying the full bundle. Individual mainline figures can still be collected normally, but the mystery deco becomes a separate exclusive attached specifically to the bundle purchase. The company did not announce production numbers for the mystery variants or indicate whether the bonus figures will eventually appear in other formats.
