The Wheel of Time Props and Costumes Head to Auction With Rand’s Sword, Mat’s Dagger and More

More than 250 original props, costumes and production pieces from “The Wheel of Time” are heading to auction, giving fans a chance to own screen-used material from across the fantasy series. Sony Pictures Television, in association with Propstore, has launched “The Wheel of Time” Online Auction, with bidding running from October 12 through October 28. Every lot starts at £100 with no reserve, and bidding is open worldwide.

Among the headline pieces is Rand al’Thor’s Heron-Marked Sword, complete with scabbard and case. The weapon was given to Rand by his father Tam and remained central to his story until it was destroyed during his battle with Ishamael at the end of Season 2. Mat Cauthon’s Ruby-Hilted Shadar Logoth Dagger is another major highlight. The cursed dagger plays a major role after Mat takes it from the abandoned city of Shadar Logoth in Season 1, with the weapon gradually corrupting him.

Collectors will also find several important costumes tied to major characters and storylines. Moiraine Damodred’s stab wound costume includes bloodstaining and battle-damaged details representing her condition after being wounded, while Egwene al’Vere’s Damane costume comes with the damane collar, hood and mouthpiece associated with her enslavement by the Seanchan in Season 2.

The Hero Horn of Valere is also included in the sale, complete with its horn box. In the series, Mat blows the legendary artifact during the Battle of Falme, summoning the greatest heroes of ages past.

The auction reaches well beyond those headline items. Propstore says the more than 250 lots span the characters, cultures and factions seen throughout the series, including material connected to the Two Rivers, Aes Sedai, Warders, Aiel, Seanchan, Whitecloaks and Forsaken.

“The Wheel of Time” was adapted from Jordan’s best-selling novels and ran for three seasons. The series follows a group of young people from the Two Rivers whose lives change after Moiraine Damodred arrives searching for the Dragon Reborn, a prophesied figure capable of saving the world or breaking it.

A portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated by Sony Pictures Television to support the Amyloidosis Research Fund at Mayo Clinic in honor of Robert Jordan.

The online-only auction is live now, with bidding continuing through October 28. Lots will begin closing at 8 a.m. PDT / 3 p.m. GMT, with every lot starting at £100 and no reserve.
