Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon Costumes Lead The Walking Dead Universe Auction at Heritage Auctions

Heritage Auctions is opening the archives of The Walking Dead for a new auction featuring costumes, props and set pieces from AMC’s long-running television franchise, including signature Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon ensembles, a hero crossbow, Walker costumes and dozens of pieces from the Commonwealth. The Walking Dead Universe Auction takes place October 30 and gives collectors access to material coming directly from the archives of the network that created the series. Heritage is timing the sale for the Halloween season, with pieces spanning the post-apocalyptic world that helped turn The Walking Dead into a major television franchise.
Leading the auction is an 11-piece signature costume and accessory group worn by Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. The assortment brings together elements associated with the former sheriff’s deputy whose search for his family helped launch the series and whose evolution from lawman to survivor and community leader became central to The Walking Dead.
Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon is represented by a 10-piece signature ensemble paired with his hero crossbow. The weapon became one of the character’s most recognizable possessions as Daryl developed from a skilled hunter and tracker into one of the central members of the survivor group.
The auction is not limited to the franchise’s heroes. Heritage Auctions is also offering a 26-piece Walker costume group representing the undead at the center of The Walking Dead universe. The distressed clothing and deteriorated appearance of the Walkers became a defining part of the series’ visual identity and helped establish the look of its post-apocalyptic world.
Another large group comes from the Commonwealth, the community featured throughout Season 11 of the flagship series. The lot contains 46 prop and scene-dressing items, including street signs, banners, community maps and pamphlets. Heritage says the production artifacts come directly from the permanent Commonwealth set, giving collectors a chance to own pieces of the environment used during the show’s final season.
Heritage describes the sale as offering fans and entertainment memorabilia collectors access to pieces of television history directly from AMC’s archives. The Walking Dead originally ran from 2010 through 2022, while the wider franchise has continued beyond the flagship series.
