Panini Mangaverse Football Debuts With Manga-Inspired Cards, Autographs and Holiday Retail Boxes

Panini America is bringing a completely different look to the football card aisle with the debut of 2026 Panini Mangaverse Football, a new product that combines players from the college and professional ranks with football legends on cards inspired by Japanese manga and graphic novels. The new set is scheduled to arrive in time for the holiday season, with hobby boxes available now for pre-order through Panini’s website. Mangaverse is built around a 100-card base set, a roster of autographs and multiple artist-driven inserts designed to give the cards the visual feel of Japanese-style comics.
Panini says the checklist brings together players known for producing big moments and performing when the spotlight was brightest. Peyton Manning, Deion Sanders, Randy Moss, Julio Jones, Chad Johnson, Lawrence Taylor, Adrian Peterson and Michael “Samurai Mike” Singletary are among the names highlighted for the product.
The manga influence carries into several of the insert sets. Way of the Warrior, Murals and Origin Story use original artwork to explore the accomplishments, journeys and styles of the players featured throughout Mangaverse. Hobby boxes also give collectors a chance to find the super short print Starcade and Blank Slate inserts.
The hobby configuration contains six packs per box with six cards in each pack. Every hobby box is scheduled to include one autograph, three numbered parallels and six inserts or insert parallels. Panini says hobby cases contain 12 boxes. Retail boxes take a different approach, particularly for the holiday season. Each retail box contains one 15-card pack with two exclusive parallels, three inserts and one Winter Wonderland insert. Bronze, Red and Green parallels are exclusive to the retail configuration.
Target, Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods will also carry Mangaverse in a special ornament-style box. The packaging gives the retail release a seasonal twist that fits the product’s holiday arrival while adding another element for collectors who pay attention to different box formats and retailer configurations. Retail cases contain 40 boxes, while the individual retail format contains the single 15-card pack.
Mangaverse also gives Panini another way to present familiar football names without relying on a traditional photography-driven design. By building the product around illustrated cards and storytelling-style inserts, the set puts players from different eras into the same visual universe.
