Signed Star Wars, Aliens and Avengers Posters Lead Propstore Fall Collectible Posters Auction

Propstore is preparing a major sale of autographed movie posters and memorabilia, with signed pieces from Star Wars: A New Hope, Aliens and Avengers: Infinity War among the leading highlights of its Fall Collectible Posters Auction. The auction runs October 9 through October 11 and brings together posters carrying signatures from Sigourney Weaver, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Chadwick Boseman and dozens of other actors and filmmakers. Propstore said the sale also includes signed material from Heat, Halloween and Saturday Night Fever, along with a Paul McCartney-signed Academy Awards program and a book signed by 22 film directors.

One of the headline lots is a 1986 Aliens British quad poster signed by 15 people connected to the film. The signatures include Sigourney Weaver, Bill Paxton, Michael Biehn, Carrie Henn and Lance Henriksen, along with James Remar, who was originally cast as Corporal Hicks. Propstore estimates the poster at $4,000 to $8,000.

The highest estimate among the three main highlights belongs to a 15th-anniversary Star Wars: A New Hope one-sheet produced by Killian Enterprises in 1992. The poster carries 11 signatures, including Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, as well as David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew and Anthony Daniels. Greg Hildebrandt, who created the artwork with his brother Tim Hildebrandt, also signed the poster. Propstore estimates it at $9,500 to $19,000.

Avengers collectors are represented by a double-sided advance one-sheet for Avengers: Infinity War signed by 19 cast members and filmmakers. The signatures include Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen and Josh Brolin, along with directors Joe and Anthony Russo. The poster is estimated at $3,000 to $6,000.

The wider sale includes several other notable autographed posters. A Heat British quad signed by Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer is estimated at $3,000 to $6,000, while a Halloween one-sheet signed by Jamie Lee Curtis, John Carpenter and nine others carries an estimate of $2,500 to $5,000. A Saturday Night Fever one-sheet signed by John Travolta and 10 other cast members has the same $2,500 to $5,000 estimate.

Another Star Wars piece pairs a 1977 color art print with a plaque and includes signatures from Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher. The piece is also described as having been lipstick-kissed by Fisher and is estimated at $5,000 to $10,000.

The auction is not limited to cast-signed movie posters. A 1974 Academy Awards presentation program signed by Paul McCartney and Timothy Bottoms is estimated at $2,000 to $4,000, while a copy of The American Film Directors signed by 22 filmmakers, including Robert Altman, Peter Bogdanovich, Mel Brooks, Francis Ford Coppola and Roger Corman, is estimated at $1,000 to $2,000.

Propstore’s Fall Collectible Posters Auction begins October 9 and runs through October 11. Day One will be presented as a live-streamed online event, while Days Two and Three will be conducted online only, with bidding available worldwide.
