Mattel Unveils Batman: Hush Rooftop Bat-Signal Diorama Set at New York Comic Con

Batman Hush Figure

Mattel has unveiled the first product from its new DC lineup, and it is starting with one of Batman’s most celebrated comic book stories. The DC Premium Batman: Hush Rooftop Bat-Signal Diorama Set made its debut at the DC booth during New York Comic Con and is available now for pre-order through Mattel Creations for $100.

Inspired by Batman: Hush, the 12-issue story written by Jeph Loeb with artwork by Jim Lee in 2002 and 2003, the new set is designed to recreate the atmosphere of the comic rather than simply offer another standalone Batman figure. The original story brought together a large group of familiar DC characters, including Catwoman, The Joker, Superman, Nightwing, Robin, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Killer Croc, Huntress and The Riddler.

At the center of the set is a highly detailed Batman: Hush figure with 34 points of articulation. Batman comes with interchangeable hands and an oversized wired cape inspired by the imagery of the comic, giving collectors more flexibility when recreating poses from Jim Lee’s artwork The figure stands on a Gotham City rooftop diorama that adds several functional display elements. The rooftop includes a removable gargoyle and a working water-based fog effect that can be activated with the push of a button, allowing Batman to be displayed surrounded by atmospheric mist.

Mattel has also incorporated a working Bat-Signal into the scene. The movable signal can actually project the Batman symbol onto a nearby surface, adding another interactive element to the display. The premium packaging has been designed to double as a display backdrop, allowing collectors to incorporate the box into the finished presentation rather than storing it separately.

The Batman: Hush set marks the first product reveal stemming from Mattel and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products’ previously announced global, multi-year DC licensing agreement. Mattel described the New York Comic Con unveiling as the beginning of a new chapter in its partnership with DC.

Nick Karamanos, General Manager & Head of Entertainment Partnerships, Action Figures and Preschool Entertainment at Mattel, said, “We are incredibly proud to bring DC back to Mattel, marking an exciting new chapter with the debut of Batman: Hush. We know there has been tremendous anticipation for this launch, and we’re excited to deliver what fans expect from a Mattel action figure — the very best.”

Collectors will not have to wait long to see what else Mattel has planned for DC. The company will host a livestream on Mattel Creations on January 1, 2027, where it plans to reveal the full Spring 2027 DC Action Figures collection. Mattel says the event will include its new lineup of adult collectibles, special appearances and additional product reveals. For now, the Batman: Hush Rooftop Bat-Signal Diorama Set serves as the first look at that upcoming collection. The set carries a suggested retail price of $100 and is available for pre-order through Mattel Creations.

Fans attending New York Comic Con can also see Mattel’s new DC collectible at the DC booth, #4365, at the Javits Center from October 8 through October 11.
