2006 Pokémon EX Crystal Guardians Charmeleon Card PSA 10 Sells for Record $157,878 at Alt

A 2006 Pokémon EX Crystal Guardians Charmeleon Reverse Holo graded PSA 10 has sold for $157,878 at Alt, with the auction house calling it the most valuable Charmeleon card ever sold.
The card comes from the 2006 EX Crystal Guardians set and carries a Gem Mint 10 grade from PSA. According to Alt, the previous high for the character was $50,400 for a 2008 Stormfront Holo. That means the EX Crystal Guardians Reverse Holo more than tripled the price of the earlier record-holder, adding another substantial character record to Alt’s recent run of high-end Pokémon sales.
The Charmeleon result follows two much larger Pokémon records at Alt. A 1999 Pokémon Base Set Prerelease Raichu graded PSA 5 sold for $699,625, with Alt calling it the most valuable Raichu card ever sold. A 2002 Legendary Collection Snorlax Reverse Foil graded PSA 10 sold for $651,001, which Alt described as a record for Snorlax.
Those three results show how the recent Alt auction extended well beyond the Pokémon hobby’s traditional trophy cards and headline characters. Raichu, Snorlax and Charmeleon each reached new price levels according to Alt, with the Charmeleon sale standing out for the size of the jump from the company’s cited previous record.
At $157,878, the PSA 10 EX Crystal Guardians Reverse Holo now holds the Charmeleon record according to Alt, surpassing the previous $50,400 benchmark by more than $107,000.
