Pete Crow-Armstrong MLB Debut Patch Autograph Card Sells for $1.098 Million at Goldin

Pete Crow-Armstrong Autograph Patch Card

Pete Crow-Armstrong’s one-of-one 2024 Topps Chrome Update MLB Debut Patch Autograph has sold for $1.098 million at Goldin, narrowly missing the record for an MLB Debut Patch card. The winning bid reached $900,000 after 30 bids and roughly 30 minutes of extended bidding. Goldin’s 22% buyer’s premium pushed the final price to $1,098,000. The card was offered in a standalone auction devoted specifically to Crow-Armstrong’s MLB Debut Patch rather than as part of one of Goldin’s larger multi-lot sales.

The card contains the actual MLB Debut patch from the jersey Crow-Armstrong wore when he made his Major League debut for the Chicago Cubs on September 11, 2023, against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Crow-Armstrong entered that game as a seventh-inning pinch-runner. Topps later incorporated the authenticated patch into his one-of-one 2024 Topps Chrome Update card and paired it with an on-card autograph. The example also received some of the strongest possible certification for a modern card. PSA graded the card Gem Mint 10, while the autograph received a PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10. The card is additionally MLB Authenticated and MBA Silver Diamond Certified.

Before the auction closed, Goldin founder and CEO Ken Goldin called it “the single best PCA card that will ever exist,” pointing specifically to the debut-worn patch, on-card signature and dual 10 grades. Goldin also said before the sale that he believed it had a chance to become the most valuable Topps baseball debut patch ever sold.

It came remarkably close. Paul Skenes’ one-of-one 2024 Topps Chrome Update MLB Debut Patch Autograph sold for $1.11 million in March 2025, leaving Crow-Armstrong’s $1.098 million result just $12,000 short of that benchmark.

The auction arrived at the end of a breakout season for the 24-year-old Cubs outfielder. Crow-Armstrong finished 2026 batting .280 with 45 home runs, 41 stolen bases, 107 RBIs and 119 runs scored. He became the seventh player in Major League history to record at least 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in the same season and the first player in Cubs history to accomplish the feat.

His season also generated several new collectibles along the way. As CollectiblesNews.com reported in August, Topps commemorated Crow-Armstrong’s historic three-home-run performance with a Topps NOW card that included a one-of-one autograph chase. The release was another example of how quickly his on-field accomplishments began translating into high-profile cards during his breakout year.

At $1.098 million, Crow-Armstrong’s MLB Debut Patch Autograph now stands just behind the Skenes card at the top of the MLB Debut Patch market, while Goldin’s announcement identified the sale as a new record for a Pete Crow-Armstrong collectible.
