Hot Toys Reveals Kamen Rider W Figure With Light-Up Double Mask and Gaia Memories
Hot Toys is expanding its Kamen Rider lineup with a new Kamen Rider W 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, recreating the Cyclone Joker form with light-up features, interchangeable accessories and a full set of Gaia Memories. The figure is based on Kamen Rider W, the hero formed by private detective Shotaro Hidari and the mysterious Philip as they combine their abilities to defend the city of Fuuto from the Dopants. Hot Toys has built the release around the character’s distinctive green-and-black appearance, with a newly developed Double Mask head featuring magnetically activated LED lighting in the eyes. The system offers four different illumination modes designed to recreate both telepathic communication sequences and action scenes.
Kamen Rider W’s asymmetric Cyclone Joker suit has been recreated with a Gaiarmor undersuit and separate green-and-black armor components. The outfit includes the lungs, hammer shoulders, braces, knee hammer shields, anklets and boots. Collectors will also have two scarf options, including a dynamically sculpted version and a fabric scarf with bendable wire that can be positioned to create a wind-swept appearance.
The accessory package places a heavy emphasis on the character’s transformation equipment. The Doubledriver Henshin Belt includes memory slots compatible with the Gaia Memories, while the set comes with the standard Cyclone and Joker Memories. Hot Toys is also including a Doubledriver storage box containing an inactive-state belt buckle that can be swapped with the active-state buckle, along with all six core Gaia Memories: Cyclone, Heat, Luna, Joker, Metal and Trigger.
Additional accessories include a Stag Phone shown in cell phone mode with an attachable Stag Memory. Hot Toys has also included Akiko Narumi’s green slipper featuring the words “Count up your sins!” as a smaller character-specific accessory for the display.
Collectors will have a Special Edition version to choose from as well. That edition includes everything from the standard release plus a translucent green-and-purple wind effect accessory designed to recreate Kamen Rider W’s whirlwind finishers.
Hot Toys has not yet opened pre-orders for either version. Sideshow is currently allowing fans to RSVP for updates on the upcoming Kamen Rider W 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure and the Special Edition.
The release follows Hot Toys’ Kamen Rider Kuuga 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure, which Sideshow is also highlighting. That figure includes a helmeted head with red LED-lit eyes, interchangeable armor pieces allowing collectors to switch between Mighty Form and Rising Mighty Form, and an Arcle Henshin Belt with a magnetically activated red LED-lit Amadam. The Kuuga figure is currently available for pre-order through Sideshow.
