Hot Toys Reveals Jim Carrey Riddler Figure From Batman Forever
Hot Toys has surprised DC collectors with a new 1/6 Scale Riddler figure inspired by Jim Carrey’s performance in the 1995 film Batman Forever. The figure recreates Carrey’s flamboyant version of Edward Nygma with two newly developed interchangeable upper headsculpts, both featuring domino masks. One captures The Riddler with his recognizable red hair, while the other gives collectors his classic bowler hat look. Hot Toys has also incorporated its separate rolling eyeball system, allowing the direction of the character’s gaze to be adjusted for different poses. Two interchangeable lower face pieces are included as well, with one showing a manic smile and the other an open-mouthed expression.
Hot Toys has recreated The Riddler’s bright green costume with a tailored bodysuit and matching jacket covered in the character’s familiar question mark pattern. A matching pair of shoes completes the outfit, giving the figure the distinctive exaggerated appearance associated with Carrey’s portrayal in Batman Forever.
The accessory lineup goes well beyond the costume. The figure includes a set of Bat-Bombs with a question-mark storage pouch, The Riddler’s cane, a faceted gem, magnifying glass and theatrical mask. Hot Toys is also including a NygmaTech mind-control technology set with an LED light-up function, directly tying the display back to Edward Nygma’s technology and storyline in the film.
Collectors will also have a Special Edition version to choose from. That release includes everything found with the standard figure plus an exclusive openable tennis court riddle box, adding another display piece based on The Riddler’s elaborate puzzle-filled presentation.
Hot Toys has not yet opened pre-orders for either version. Sideshow is currently allowing collectors to RSVP for updates on the upcoming release of The Riddler 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure and its Special Edition.
The new figure joins Hot Toys’ growing selection of Batman Forever collectibles. Sideshow is also highlighting its Robin 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure from the film, which features a newly developed headsculpt and a detailed recreation of Robin’s costume, including the metallic-finished “R” emblem.
