Hot Toys RoboCop Special Edition Figure First Look Unboxing Revealed by Sideshow
Sideshow is giving collectors a closer look at Hot Toys’ new RoboCop Special Edition 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure ahead of its worldwide release. Inspired by RoboCop 2, the figure uses diecast materials and is designed around Peter Weller’s appearance as RoboCop. The release includes a helmeted head with interchangeable lower face pieces for different expressions, along with a newly developed headsculpt featuring detailed mechanical elements.
Hot Toys has recreated RoboCop’s armor with an iridescent metallic blue and purple finish accented by black details. Collectors can also swap in battle-damaged helmet and chest armor pieces, giving the figure an alternate display option based on RoboCop’s more heavily damaged appearance. The armor includes a functioning thigh holster for storing one of the included weapons. A large assortment of interchangeable hands provides additional posing possibilities. The set includes articulated hands, fists, hands designed for holding weapons and accessories, and a finger-pointing hand.
The accessory lineup draws heavily from RoboCop 2. The figure comes with a rifle and pistols, along with Nuke vials, a Nuke canister and Cain’s brain with cervical spine. The Special Edition adds a RoboCop 2 metal collectible card packaged with its own display case.
Sideshow’s new unboxing video offers a first look at the finished figure before it begins shipping worldwide. The RoboCop Special Edition 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys is currently available for pre-order through Sideshow.
Sideshow is also highlighting Hot Toys’ RoboCain 1/6 Scale Diecast Collectible Figure, bringing RoboCop 2’s cyborg villain to the same scale. RoboCain is built from more than 200 components and features more than 100 points of articulation, with weathered paint applications designed to recreate the character’s mechanical appearance from the film.
The RoboCain figure includes two interchangeable head and neck modules, one with an articulated head and another featuring a light-up function. Its extensive weapon system includes a six-barreled rotary chain gun, extendable battering ram, articulated three-clawed hands, pliers and a cutting torch. Additional engineering features include a waist capable of rotating 360 degrees, hydraulic rods that allow a lifting function and an opening chest hatch that can be fitted with a rail to recreate a scene from the movie. The shoulder armor also includes a detachable cannon and an LED light-up feature.
