First Rocky Horror Show Bobbleheads Launch Through Kickstarter With Exclusive Dr Frank N Furter Figure
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has launched a Kickstarter campaign to produce the first officially licensed Rocky Horror Show bobbleheads, with seven characters from the original 1973 stage production included in the collection. The lineup features Dr Frank N Furter, Rocky, Brad, Janet, Magenta, Riff Raff and Columbia, with the Dr Frank N Furter figure available exclusively to backers of the Kickstarter campaign.
The campaign has a $15,000 fundraising goal and runs from September 25 through midnight Central Time on Halloween, October 31. Individual bobbleheads are available for $30 each plus shipping, with additional exclusive add-ons also offered through the campaign. Fans who want to support the project without purchasing a figure can pledge as little as $1. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum says production quantities will be limited and determined by demand during the Kickstarter campaign.
The Dr Frank N Furter bobblehead is the centerpiece of the release and will not be available outside the Kickstarter. The figure stands on a red circular base displaying the character’s name and the Rocky Horror logo, which also bobbles. Frank N Furter is shown wearing the character’s familiar black corset, fishnet stockings, black briefs, pearl necklace and high-heeled platform shoes. The figure also carries added significance following the death of Tim Curry on August 25, 2026, at age 80. Curry first played Dr Frank N Furter on stage before making his film debut in the same role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum described the new figure as a tribute to the character Curry brought to life.
Rocky Horror began as Richard O’Brien’s stage production The Rocky Horror Show, which premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in June 1973. Inspired by B-movie science fiction and horror films, the production quickly developed a following and eventually led to the 1975 film adaptation The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The movie went on to become a cult favorite and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 2005.
The release arrives a year after The Rocky Horror Picture Show celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2025. According to the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, the film remains in limited theatrical release in 2026, 51 years after its premiere, making it the longest-running theatrical release in film history.
