ADÉLA and 5 Gum Turn Chewed Gum Into One-of-a-Kind Stage-Worn Fashion for eBay Auction

5 Gum and pop artist ADÉLA are turning something usually thrown away into a set of one-of-a-kind performance collectibles. The two have launched the 5 Gum x ADÉLA Stimulating Style Collection, a five-piece fashion collaboration built around gum ADÉLA actually chewed during rehearsals for her Red Bottoms Tour. Each piece of gum was preserved in resin and incorporated into custom stagewear and accessories that she will wear during upcoming tour stops before the items are auctioned on eBay.
The collection was created with ADÉLA’s stylist and creative director, Chris Horan, and includes a custom top and shorts with 5 Gum wrapper fringe, a statement hat, a chain belt and a custom microphone stand. All five pieces incorporate preserved gum from her rehearsals. Rather than putting the items straight up for sale, ADÉLA will wear a different piece from the collection at five stops on the Red Bottoms Tour.
Those cities are Nashville, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Denver and Phoenix. Each item will therefore enter the auction with its own connection to a specific live performance. That stage use is likely to be a major part of the appeal once the pieces hit eBay.
The collaboration combines pop memorabilia, fashion and an unusual piece of artist provenance in a way that is hard to duplicate. These are not simply promotional garments carrying ADÉLA’s name. They contain material directly connected to her rehearsals and will then be worn during performances before changing hands.
5 Gum says the concept was built around its long-running “Stimulate Your Senses” identity, with the five looks intended to represent sight, sound, scent, taste and touch. “One of my favorite things about performing live is the connection you create with an audience,” said ADÉLA. “There’s an energy between an artist and an audience that’s difficult to describe but impossible to forget. Working with 5 gum gave me the opportunity to preserve a piece of that experience. Knowing these pieces will go directly from the stage to fans while supporting Save The Music Foundation makes this collaboration incredibly special to me.”
5 Gum has experimented with collectible-focused promotions before, but the ADÉLA project takes that idea in a particularly literal direction. By preserving rehearsal-chewed gum inside resin and incorporating it into clothing and accessories that will then be stage-worn, the finished pieces sit somewhere between concert memorabilia and wearable art.
The auction is scheduled to run on eBay from October 14 through October 24. All proceeds will benefit Save The Music Foundation, which supports music education programs for students and schools across the United States.
