Hess Releases Limited-Edition 2026 Collector’s Tanker Trucks With 137 Lights

Hess Toy Truck has released a special 2026 Collector’s Edition Tanker Trucks set, pairing a modern tanker with a vintage-inspired truck in a limited 2-in-1 release celebrating more than 60 years of Hess toy history. The set is available exclusively through HessToyTruck.com for $69.99, with free standard shipping and Energizer batteries included. Hess says the Collector’s Edition was produced in extremely limited quantities.

The larger Modern Tanker introduces a new look for the line, combining a matte-green body with a chrome-colored reflective finish. It has 109 working lights, six free-rolling wheels on three axles, five sounds, a rear-opening door and a slide-out loading ramp that holds the smaller Vintage Tanker.

That Vintage Tanker looks back to the company’s early fuel-delivery trucks. It carries the same matte-green finish, yellow wheel wells inspired by the original Hess fleet, chrome-look details, 28 LED lights and a pull-back motor. Together, the two trucks have 137 lights and six animated lighting patterns, setting new records for the Hess Toy Truck line.

The packaging was also designed with collectors in mind. Each set comes in a display-ready box with silver foil accents and a removable tray showing the New York City skyline from New Jersey, where the Hess Toy Truck tradition began. A Certificate of Authenticity and a printed message from John B. Hess are also included.

The release is especially notable because Hess is using it to connect the brand’s past and future. The vintage tanker reflects the company’s original delivery-truck roots, while the modern tanker pushes the design toward a more premium display piece.

Hess has been producing its holiday toy trucks since 1964, and the annual releases have become long-running collectibles in their own right. Earlier this year, the company also released a special America 250 Mini Collection featuring miniature versions of several past Hess vehicles.

The Collector’s Edition is not the final Hess release of 2026. The company says its traditional 2026 Holiday Hess Toy Truck will be announced and go on sale October 19 at 8 AM Eastern, also exclusively through HessToyTruck.com.
