Topps Brings Mars Attacks Back for Christmas With Autographs, Relics and Sketch Cards

The Martians are coming back to Earth, and apparently they have terrible timing. Topps has revealed 2026 Topps Mars Attacks Christmas, a new holiday-themed trading card set that drops the cult sci-fi property into the middle of Christmas. Pre-orders are scheduled to open September 8 at 11 AM ET through Topps.

The set features all-new artwork built around a fresh alien invasion, this time with Santa Claus and Christmas caught in the middle. A 50-card base set tells the story of the latest battle for Earth, with additional inserts continuing the invasion beyond the main checklist.

Collectors will also find an extended group of 25 character cards with holiday-themed parallels, including Candy Cane versions. The main base set has its own parallels as well, including Snowcaps cards numbered to just five.

The autograph lineup takes the set in an even stranger direction. Caught in the Crossfire Chrome autographs feature celebrities fighting back against the Martians, with Topps naming Mike Tyson, Dennis Rodman and Jeff Goldblum among the signers. There are also Cryptids Alliance Facsimile Autographs featuring Santa Claus and other cryptids, adding another layer to the tongue-in-cheek storyline. Some versions will appear on Chrome stock, including colored refractor parallels.

Relics are part of the invasion too. Topps says Invasion Worn Relics will contain pieces of items recovered from the different battlegrounds in the fight between Santa and the Martians. The set will also include ultra-rare sketch cards from artists putting their own Christmas spin on the familiar Mars Attacks characters.

Another insert brings Mars Attacks into one of Topps’ newer card designs. Mars Invasion Chrome parodies the Youth Invasion inserts from Cosmic Chrome, swapping the athletes normally seen on those cards for Martians. Topps is leaning fully into the unusual Christmas setting, mixing the Martian invasion theme with Santa Claus, holiday artwork and a lineup of deliberately offbeat inserts and autograph cards.

2026 Topps Mars Attacks Christmas is scheduled to open for pre-order September 8 at 11 AM ET.
