Cavan Sullivan Rookie Debut Patch Auto Card Sells for Record $324,000 at Alt
Cavan Sullivan’s card market just made a massive jump. The one-of-one 2025 Topps Chrome MLS Rookie Debut Patch Autograph Card of the Philadelphia Union star sold for $324,000 at Alt, establishing a new record for a Sullivan card and more than tripling his previous high.
Alt announced the sale on X, calling it the world’s most expensive Cavan Sullivan card. “RECORD SALE: We just sold the world’s most expensive Cavan Sullivan card for a record $324,000 in our auction,” Alt said. “This sale was for his 2025 Topps Chrome MLS Rookie Debut Patch Autograph.”
Alt cited Sullivan’s previous card record at $90,518, meaning the Debut Patch sale came in at more than three-and-a-half times that amount. The card had been one of the biggest announced chases in 2025 Topps Chrome MLS long before it reached the auction block.
Topps specifically singled out Sullivan’s MLS Rookie Debut Patch Auto when previewing the product, describing it as one of the top cards in the set. Rookie Debut Patch Autographs are one-of-one cards built around patches taken from a player’s debut uniform and paired with an autograph.
Sullivan’s card carries an added piece of soccer history. He made his MLS debut for Philadelphia Union on July 17, 2024, at 14 years and 293 days old, becoming the youngest player to appear for a top-level professional sports team in North America at the time. That made the eventual appearance of his Debut Patch card particularly anticipated. Topps held the Sullivan card for a later product rather than including it among the MLS Debut Patch cards released in 2024, eventually placing it in 2025 Topps Chrome MLS.
The $324,000 result does more than reset Sullivan’s personal record. Topps also described the sale as the most expensive MLS card ever, pushing the teenage midfielder into territory previously occupied by much more established international stars. For a player who is still only 16, that is an unusually large number for the hobby. It also puts Sullivan’s Rookie Debut Patch firmly among the most significant cards produced during the expansion of Topps’ Debut Patch program beyond baseball.
