Tom Brady 2013 Black Finite Prizm Card Sells for Record $1.238 Million at Alt
A one-of-one Tom Brady card from 2013 has sold for more than $1.2 million at Alt, setting a new record for a non-rookie card of the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Alt announced that the 2013 Panini Prizm Black Finite Brady sold for $1,238,080 in its latest auction. “RECORD SALE: We just sold the 2013 Tom Brady Black Finite Prizm for a record $1,238,080 in our auction,” Alt said. “This sale makes this the most expensive Tom Brady non-rookie card of all time.”
The card is the Black Finite parallel of Brady’s No. 64 card from 2013 Panini Prizm Football. Black Finite was the one-of-one parallel in the product, making the Brady the only example produced. That scarcity puts the card in a very different category from Brady’s more widely available Prizm issues. The 2013 set included a range of parallels, including Gold cards numbered to 10, Light Blue Die-Cuts numbered to 15 and Purple Cracked Ice cards numbered to 40, with Black Finite sitting at the top of the parallel structure as the one-of-one version.
The $1.238 million result is particularly notable because the card comes from well after Brady’s rookie season. Most of the quarterback’s biggest public card sales have historically centered on his 2000 rookie cards, led by high-end examples of his Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket autograph.
One of the most notable came in June 2021, when Lelands sold a 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket Brady autograph, numbered 8/100 and graded BGS Mint 9 with a 10 autograph, for $3,107,372.40. The new Alt sale shows that ultra-rare later-career cards can also reach seven figures when the combination of player, brand and scarcity lines up.
Prizm has become one of the most recognizable modern sports card brands, and one-of-one Black Finite parallels sit at the top of the product’s hierarchy. In this case, the card also captures Brady during his New England Patriots career, more than a decade after his rookie cards were issued.
